Have u heard something nigerians call "cruise"😂 before....... I see those tweets on twitter and from d context of a Nigerian saying they do better amapiano started as a means to insult south Africans who call them names on social media...... Everyone knows amapiano is original to south Africa... But why are south African ls denying that the highest topping amapiano song in d world is one done by a Nigerian..... And this is simply because of d fusion...... And our artists always give credit to y'all....... I just still don't understand how people r soo hyper up about it.... Nigerians never felt amused by d original amapiano until it was fused in with Afrobeats, a genre that is original to nigeria, nit ghana... Highlife is what is original to ghana and it was a genre fella once fused with Afrobeats.... Its crazy how no one realized that nigeria has their own highlife, it sounds closely to juju and Fuji music which are two traditional nigerian genres that also make up fella's afrobeat..... We're not thieves.... If u knew our history, we always embraced people's culture like its our own and give credit.... There was a time after Fella where nigeria music was lost to American and Congolese music.... We didn't complain and just enjoyed their music but d rise of modern Afrobeat artist like 2face, D'banj, P-Square changed our music scene in a way we didn't expect.... At that time our influence was pop music it was Afto-pop, no Ghanaian highlife, that era was gone..... Fella Afrobeat is not d same as Afrobeat of today, its very different even when u listen to it..... We just give fella credit because he was d biggest Nigerian musician out of Africa who coined the name Afrobeat as a Nigerian or african genre.... We could've called our modern afrobeat just Afto-pop, but since a new wave if Afro-r&b started here we coined everything together under d name Afro beats.......... These are music specific to nigerians.... We never stole anything or felt interested ti steal amapiano.... We just did a simple collaboration that was meant to showcase nigeria and south African music then we ended up creating a new genre called Afto-piano..... And if u Google it.... It says.... "it is an African genre that was formed through d fusion of Nigeria Afrobeat and South African Amapiano".... And d credit goes to both countries..... So when nigerians are saying they do better amapiano, they most likely mean to say they do better Afro-piano....... Everyone knows that.

@@bingjayjemi2819 I think the fusion will hurt Afrobeats. You can’t flex that the biggest piano song is from a Nigerian, when without South Africa Amapiano wouldn’t exist. So basically you hopped on it because Afrobeats producers are lazy. Then you called it Afro piano because you can’t make as authentic piano. Only piano i recognize is the one from SA !! Make your own music if this is your mentality

@@BANGA2TIMEZ Just so you know Afrobeats(s) is a fusion genre from america to arabia, asia to different parts of Africa. Go listen to Rema--Commando, Rema- Iron man, Fireboy---Elijah, Asake--Mogbe, etc these are afrobeats songs infused with indian, arabia, asai sounds. The most dynamic genre out there is Afrobeats b/c its a collection of beats/sounds from all over the world infused with Nigerian traditional sounds, dance etc. So fusion will never hurt afrobeats b/c Afrobeats is a fusion genre in of itself with heavy Nigerian influence.

Amapiano is a quiet soul blended with a nature of peace and civility. It speaks South Africa 🇿🇦. I love ❤️ it. Afrobeat my Nigerian 🇳🇬 music is fast and fleeting just like everything about us. Our lifestyle is not about the soul. Is about moving on and forgetting about the problems around us. Afrobeat matches with our tempo of always being in a rush about "what next?". In all these both Amapiano and Afrobeat are lovely. As a Nigerian, I dance to Amapiano from SA the more. It matches the kind of person I want to be.

@agbeseochima9154 I appreciate your comment on Afrobeats, my longest confusion has been how Nigerian artists will only ever mention Fela Kuti in his generation, and nobody else? It never made sense why it was Fela then D'banj and his generation. Where are the guitarists, pianists, drummers etc. Where are the Nigerian musicians in history, who celebrates them? You have answered that question for me.
@bukolalawrence
@bukolalawrence Жыл бұрын
@@lebo5281 We had them underground and locally because there was an influx of Western and congolese music. We were dancing to Awilo and American artistes. Even late Brenda Fasey was big in Nigeria. Our plantashun boyz (where Tuface started from), were singing r n b. There were other artistes, but i'll speak from my 80s born perspective. We started listening to our main stream artistes more when the Tuface, then Kennis music artistes churned out afrobeat songs. It only got bigger from there. We took note of our artistes when they went back to our style of music.

What is Nigerian Amapiano honestly?Amapiano is a lifestyle, it is culture, it is a state of being. If Nigeria wants to be influenced by Amapiano, they must go deep and infuse it in culture to develop their authenticity, right now it is a copy and paste.

Everyone needs to chill a bit. people always adapt musical styles and trends to adapt to unique regions. Hip Hop started in East coast, but West and Deep South modified the sound. Now every rap sound has moved vastly away from the NY sound. Chicago Drill sound is now the flavour and arguably not as good as the old NY sound, but thats just the way things are.

I’m Nigerian but that girl is capping ngl…SA owns amapiano no doubt. Nigerians are business oriented and generally open minded people, we’re able to take cultural elements and blend it with theirs. It’s all about the market, the money and the music reach. No one is claiming amapiano bruh, y’all should grow up.

Bro, some artists incorporate South African beats into their music without proper acknowledgment or credit to the original creators. For example, Neyo's song used beats from the renowned South African music band CJB, known for its unique sound. It would be interesting to make a comparison and objectively assess the similarities between the two songs. This is CJB kzbin.info/www/bejne/bYvTlp97g9VgarM and this is NEYO kzbin.info/www/bejne/gp_Yf3-mYpimoqM I've also had the opportunity to listen to one Nigerian song that incorporates beats from this South African track kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5q8hmiOaMmtgbc and I am pretty sure in Nigeria they think its a Nigerian beat. It would have been fair if proper credit was given to the original creators of the beats. Acknowledging the originators of the music would go a long way in promoting fairness and respecting artistic contributions.

This is a misrepesentation of history and the truth...we all know that amapiano derives from house sounds primarily...there are elements of kwaito in the dance and cultural aspects but the sound is derivitive of "tribal house" and "gqom"/"taxi house music" of the early 2000s and 2010s. You must be one of these gen z's who started coming outside when amapiano started getting popularity a few years ago. This is how arguments like "who does amapaino better/amapiano belongs to Nigeria", start. People just need to speak honestly about the facts and history of things..

What nonsense is this? Nigerians aren't doing Amapiano apart from Asake using the beat. If a Nigerian do Amapiano it is because it is in a collaboration with South African. Stop this now because I don't like Amapiano in the first place - which is just copied from techno and other house-dance genre.
