I share the same sentiments about the majority of Nigerian listeners and their ignorance regarding music genres. I've had to come to terms that most of my fellow Nigerians call every Afropop sound that a Nigerian artist creates Afrobeats. 🤦🏾♂️

I said it sponon might be the first amapiano feature of Nigerian Artist, but it only blew after ke star remix went big. Also being that of lagos is the first amapiano single, david can also take credit for that as mayorkun is his artist. All davidos amapiano features were a hit from the 3 features with Focalistic to high, excluding the singles on his album ABT which i like but you are not hits. He might no have made it popular in Africa as the tweet stated but he did in Nigeria. So he should be credited to a certain level.

Maphorisa was very objective in his deposition and was stating undisputed facts just like a student writing a research paper had produce facts that backs his thesis but Davido need to have said point well conceived and move on but instead he did what we call ad-homenim attacking Maphorisa maligning his character when Mapharisa's only intention was to be objectives and if you look at BBC documentary on Amapiano even Davido appears in the interview and attest that Amapiano is unique. My brother I thank you for being objective in this interview and stating facts if your were in the court room you would have lauded as a credible witness with integrity the world need people like you to set records straight Davido get to win by included in the genre he mishandled Maphorisa's objective truth which is universal.

I don't believe in the analysis of this guy. He once said Ghana is the originator of afrobeat. I urge you to go and watch DJ Pakorich's interview of Ebo Taylor, veteran Ghanaian musician and contemporary of Fela. He has confirmed Fela created afrobeat not Ghana or Ghanaians.
@rotimiobatunwase85252 жыл бұрын
Motolani will watch the video and still tell you afrobeat is originated from Ghana. He use to think he knows everything
@advantagevibes40572 жыл бұрын
Lol.. he’s right tbh...Afrobeat is also influenced by Highlife, which began in Ghana in the early 1920s. During that time, Ghanaian musicians incorporated foreign influences like the foxtrot and calypso with Ghanaian rhythms such as osibisaba
@bigsam99872 жыл бұрын
Na wa for you guys. Ebo Taylor could also be wrong. I am Ghanaian and most of our veterans will tell you afrobeat started in Ghana.

@@bigsam9987 thank God the man is still. Can you tell the story of Jesus Christ better than the apostles that were with him? Fela and Ebo Taylor were 5 and 6. The also confessed that Fela instigated him to be more African. All you people want is for the old to lie against the dead (Fela) and later he goes to his grave with an unforgivable guilt. Haba! May God have mercy on you all.

There's no point listening to this man, a person with small mindset who was giving credits to the Ghanaians as the pioneers of Afrobeat, of which many of us knew that Fela was the originator. Not until Ebor Tailor recently came out to tell how Fela encouraged them Ghanaians to stop doing Jazz of the Western world, but do their own sound, and he also affirmed that Fela was the originator of Afrobeat. So, my friend, if you know get work to do, find another profession.

A lot of Nigerians are horribly bad at genres. They just jump and dance to whatever sound is popping but they don't understand music. That's why they always argue when people say Afrobeats came from Ghana. If you had ears and understood sonics this wouldn't even be a debate. The 5-beat pattern came from Ghana and has been in Ghanaian mainstream music for many decades.
