Mooer P1 Prime Headphone Amp 1st Impressions

Looks and sounds like a great, versatile little unit! Mooer actually does make a 4 button pedal that connects with it via bluetooth. Sure beats lugging a lot of gear around.

Thanks for this "Impressions" of P1 Prime! It's pricey at $230CAD in Canada. From your demo all the various tones sound pretty compressed to me, is this regardless of whether there's an adjustable universal compression setting?

The P1 has a 1/4 jack in/out, the Nux 2 does not, adapters would be needed to put through an amp. Also has more everything effects, cabs etc and a looper. Depends what your using it for, still the Nux is also a bargain and as you say, a smoother interface

John have you seen the tribute video on CGS2 recorded after China Mike's funeral Henning and some other KZbinrs chat and tell stories about Mike it's charming , funny , irreverent and at the end glorious maybe you could mention it on the live stream tomorrow? They're going to auction mike's gear for charity it would be fitting if you spread the word amongst the faithful Mike would've been appreciative a good epitath for a good bloke.

I hate^H^H^H^H really dislike more and more gadgets relying on the availability of a smartphone. That's just two more possible points of failure (phone + battery). Perhaps not so bad with a headphone amp, but this bad habit seems to spread like wildfire.

I am with you 100% They are a distraction. What a smartphone adds to the environment, it also brings with it other issues that need yet more faffing about. Then the cycle continues. In all honesty, most of the new kit that has been out recently, would lose a lot of their functionality without the phone. Power to those who make it work for them, I am happy to go without.

I wouldn't have thought they're going to sell many at that uncompetitive price. I think £99 max, or they've gone over the psychological £100 barrier, with the competition being under £100 😀

How on earth can they ask these sort of prices for a device that must cost only a few pounds to make? Even with any development costs included, the asking price is way too high. Unless you need one that is pocket sized, any decent practice amp with a headphone socket would be far better value.
