I am so into Autumn- spring and fall are my favorite seasons. We had a fire in the fireplace for the first time today and it felt so welcoming.

Oooh that fire sounds super cosy... we've sorted our wood and we'll probably have our first fire this week. I have a tartan blanket on my sofa too... perfect for the chilly Autumn nights. July 25, 2023. I just made more for my second journal I'm making. The great grands are in Arizona with their mom now, so I made my great grand daughter a couple of journals and gave her a lot of things to use to make it hers. She will be 13 in October and loves to draw. She can do whatever she likes. I made the boys a couple to color write or do what they like. 💮🦋🐦❤️ The boys are 10 and 7.😊

What a beautiful autumn spread! What a cool score board! I like to mix the cream text and white elements together! Sometimes I will add a little brown distressing to the edges of the white to blend more with the cream but only if I think I need it.

First off, it’s a great spread, the balance of elements is ‘picture perfect’. I was so glad when you removed the black spotty bit and halved it because I was thinking it was a bit heavy......you see, I’ve learned that from you! I like the white against the aged book paper, I do it myself, it’s the old/new contrast I think that works so well. I love autumn, however, my garden is surrounded by and overhung by enormous oak trees and I can tell you it’s a bumper crop of acorns this year. You need a tin helmet as they come down like shrapnel !! Anyway, I love the spread Joie as I always get inspiration from what you do and I’ve lost count of the number of your envelopes that I’ve done! xxx

I live where summer is very HOT, so the cooler days and nights of Autumn are such a welcome relief. I think the brilliant colors of the trees are my favorite part of the season. Sadly, this year we had so little rain that the leaves are just turning brown and falling off. I need to take a drive to the mountains!!

I've been watching and loving how you incorporate art (painting) into your journals on the pages. It's something I want to try but haven't had the courage yet. Hi Joie beautiful page, as always you do a wonderful job at putting such pretty spreads. My suggestion to putting white paper on cream like colors is to just give the whites some distressing around the edges and a very light distress in the middle of the paper. I hope I made sense lol! Hugs.💙

So here's my best shot at a written explanation...😁 From the left hand edge, against which you push up the paper, the lines/grooves are at the following points....13 /16ths of an inch, 2 inches plus 1/16th of an inch, 2 inches plus 15/16ths of an inch, 3 and 14/16ths of an inch, 4 and 2/16ths of an inch, 5 and a quarter inch, 5 and a half inches, 5 and 14/16ths of an inch.

Beautiful work as always. I love the way you layer old vintage paper with white, it suits your journal. If it was a completely vintage journal then of course white would be a no-no, but in a botanical journal such as yours it works really well. And my question to you is; do you ever have the urge to use bits of material or lace? I used to hate that in others’ journals because it always looked so heavy, But I’ve come to love it (when more subtley done) as it adds instant colour and texture to the page. Curious about your thoughts on this.

I have been wondering about the angel policy for Daphne’s Diary and I thought that you had done some work for that so I just thought I would ask because I don’t see people using the DD in their journals anymore. I have some pages made with them and I don’t know if I can put them into a journal for sale. Any help is very appreciated. Thank you! I love your painting on the book pages! Lovely comment Donna, thank you! Let me try to share my thoughts about the use of any magazine. A magazine will be subject to copyright the same as any book, which means that you can't copy it, physically or digitally. So you couldn't for example take and share quality pictures of it, although I think you could tear it up and put it into a journal. You can't take copies of it to use, to sell or use for yourself. And you can't tear it up and make a collage and then share pictures of that to sell. I am not am expert but this is where I have got to based on reading. Does that make any sense?
