I have used all of these but not in a long while, since I learned to knit. this video was a wonderful visual reminder exactly how crochet ribbing works. Love your work!

Thank you for this! I agree that I think the back of the yarn over slip stitch is the nicer side so I figured out a way to have it on the front side of your work even if you have different color yarn by starting with a chainless foundation slip stitch row (instead of making a foundation chain), then chaining one and working row 2 back toward your project as a slip stitch, doing your 2 slip stitches to join, then 3rd row going out is yarn over slip stitch, and you repeat the chain one slipstitch row and yarn over slip stitch row to the end of your project. Puts the nicer looking side on the front instead of the back and gives it a nice starting edge!

@@amandawhite9664 so basically flip the row order, of course!! Such a simple solution. Thanks for sharing, much appreciated. X

@@zeensandroger3015 Basically! But I also think starting with the chainless slip stitch was important too because it gave the right thickness for the first rib. When I tried it with just a starting chain, the edge just didn't look right and it didn't line up with the piece I was attaching it to.

@@amandawhite9664 I also did some experimenting yesterday. The same direction can be kept you just turn the work the opposite way so there's no twist left behind! Move the working yarn so it's in the right position to start the first slip stitch. Every day is a school day! 😂
