Thanks for the video at the NEC. Ivan, you are a national treasure and thanks Suzie for being a great partner in these posts. I've had a few Fords in the past and if your Type 1 Escort had come to the US, I would have had one more. I got a bit melancholy when Ivan was talking to Gerry Johnstone about all the car friends who had passed. I'm old enough now to have had a good number of my car buddies pass and their cars sold on or gone, but the great memories remain.

Wonderful exhibition, plenty of eye candy wherever you looked. Exemplary camera work as usual, Susie. The occasional aside, or prompt for Ivan is much appreciated as well. I do have one request however, there are times you come tantalizingly close to the car's data sheet, just beyond reading distance. Please bring the camera in a little closer and hold for one second, allowing those of us who wish to, to pause and read.

The old photo, Ivan, (the Fox), surrounded by pretty "chicky babes" sitting on his racing Escort, so typical Ivan. Suzie I'll bet that guy takes some "supervision". A great look at the show, thanks Suzie and Ivan for taking us along.

Absolutely wonderful! The Ford hall reminded me of the Earls Court Motor Show circa 1970 or so, great memory. Suzie, it is so great that you spend time doing this with your Dad, he is a national treasure!

Susie it is to your credit that you are picky about the lighting but you did a wonderful job and all the cars are great to look at. Thank you for your professionalism Ivan someday you're going to have to tell us the story of the locomotive on the shelf over your head. I'm sure I'm not the only model railroad guy that wants to know more about that
@bryduhbikeguy2 ай бұрын
That's funny. I was looking at that again, and did wonder.
@billheath77372 ай бұрын
An old man, a retired railway engineer, lived next door to me (SW4) in the 1950s, in a house which still used gas lights. He made a model locomotive, just like the one on Ivan's shelf. It was very detailed, but as a child at the time, I cannot be sure if it ran. It certainly looked as if it would run.

Great to finally see the show. Took my lad there a couple of years ago knowing it would be the best part of a hundred quid for two tickets, got to the car park and they wanted another twenty quid or so to park. That was the tipping point where i got the hump and we went to the national motorcycle museum half a mile away instead. Turned out to be a great day out and cost about a tenner each.

re: Hall-Scott breather - I suppose the breathing with a dry sump will always be a bit turbulent compared to a wet one because the air volume is much reduced so extra "reserve" volume needs to be maintained external to the crankcase. The front and rear breather connections should make this achievable as long as you have vertical "tubes" long enough to act as a baffle and avoid oil splash. Great fun Ivan !

At school we were taken around Ford's Dagenham works and saw the clay model of the Capri before it was launched. Interesting place if you love machinery. We also saw the first 3 door ford Cortina. It was a QC mistake, one side of the production line built a 2 door, the other side made a 4 door Cortina. It was only when the guy drove it off the production line and parked it, and tried to lock it, he noticed that it only had 3 door buttons!

The NEC video was great! I and I think everyone else would like to see all the footage Suzie, it doesn't matter at all if it's a bit dark. Anything with Ivan in it talking about cars is well worth watching. Could you put out an unedited version please? I bet you would get plenty of views! Ivan the motto is if an advert is on the internet DO NOT believe a bloody word of it, as it's a tissue of lies! I just skip through the adverts as quick as I can, but these days KZbin is cute and makes you sit through all of it with many of them. It's even worse if you watch it on the television the adverts are far more frequent.
