Hi kim. Thanks for showing us how you make your candles. It takes the guesswork out of it for those of us who haven't done it for a long time and want to make some next year. I probably wouldn't start with your wax percolator, but that is really Nifty and if you make a lot of candles that would come in very handy. Thank you for the link to can wax. I'll go check it out for fun.❤

I used to make candles but I didn’t have the melter and I hated the mess, if I ever get back into it I’ll definitely get the warmer, thank you for sharing your tips.

This was a great candle making tutorial Kim. I have done it before, but didn’t work well, as my candles caved in the middle. I was just winging it. It makes sense to measure the temperature and poking the holes maybe prevents the caving in? I will try your method next time. I used soy wax and the scented oils. Can I ask where you can buy the scents? Thank you so much!❤🙏🏻

I get the fragrance from can wax as well!

Kim this is a GREAT tutorial!! Thanks so much! I had no idea the Vevor thing even existed! Is the scent also soy based? Thanks soo much! I hate to ask but can you please tell us what the glaze combo is on the mug that’s to your left on the shelf when you’re sitting at the table filling the candles? It’s so drippy and beautiful! Thanks.
@undsethpotteryАй бұрын
Thank you Michele, I can’t remember what glazes I used, I did do a KZbin sharing the combination but I can’t remember which video it was! The fragrance isn’t soy based but the oils are clean! Dinner of the oils are just essential oils!

Thank you so much for making this 😭😭😭 you are so sweet. I know my handle isn't the same on instagram, but I'm the one (or at least one of the people) who requested this on instagram.

I'm not disciplined enough yet to make each vessel the same size, though I'm making them the same diameter. So I'm definitely spending more time on the amount of wax and fragrance calculations ❤

Are you doing anything with labeling? I know there are some regulations on labeling candles but I haven't seen any potters do anything with it.

thanks for sharing I saw those on vevor and was wondering if they worked. I thought you would have gotten wax from windy point as its close to you
@undsethpotteryАй бұрын
I have never heard of windy point, I will look them up 😊

@@undsethpottery They are in Calgary there is also Voyager soap and candle in BC these 2 are the largest suppliers in western Canada I think

Thank you so Kim, it definitely clears up any confusion. It reminds me of soap making. Do you have many people wanting unscented candles? Such a great tutorial, thanks for sharing!
@undsethpotteryАй бұрын
I do occasionally make unscented candles but they are the last to sell! Can wax does have clean air scent and essential oil options

@ Good to know! Thank you.

Thank you for this tutorial, Kim! My daughter recently started making candles and has been wondering why she has to use so much of the liquid scent for them to smell when they burn. So maybe the temperature of her wax is too hot when she's adding the scent. I will most definitely share this video with her.
@undsethpotteryАй бұрын
10% is a lot of fragrance, she just might not be adding enough, you really need to weigh it!
@joannpounders5567Ай бұрын
@@undsethpottery Yes. She did say she has to add a lot to hold its scent. Do you get your scents from the wax supplier you linked? I think a scale would be a great Christmas gift for her! 😃
@undsethpotteryАй бұрын
Yes, I get all my fragrance from canwax

Enjoyed your video. Those vessels are absolutely beautiful. Are those ceramic? Did you make them? I looked on that website that you mentioned and didn't see them.

Thanks for showing this. I've been wanting to do this with some of my pots. Do you know if beeswax will work the same way as soy?
@undsethpotteryАй бұрын
I think it would be similar, I haven’t used beeswax, you would definitely need different wicks and the temperatures would be different!
