Can a bio student join Merchant Navy? Yes, of course, it is possible. But, you can't join the merchant navy on the basis of 12th, as it is necessary to have PCM. You can join Merchant navy on the basis of 10th marks, by doing the GP Rating Course. This course involves a 6-month pre-sea training, followed by 9 months of structured shipboard training.

If ur PCM is less than 60 and fond for engineering than go for mechanical engineering and after that do GME with sponsership from colleges like great eastern, samundra and IMS goa.
