I haven't done game development before, and have done one highschool class on programming years ago. I feel like this would be a good time to begin something, and I would be happy if I even had anything turned in. Cant wait!

Why? Ive never seen someone post malware on itch and I highly doubt someone would do that in such a small jam like this one

@@twisky3751 it’s good practice when downloading unknown files from strangers to assume the worst and take precautions. I come from a security background, being paranoid about everything is the job

A shame i could not "learn new tools" as it could be integrating AI into the development process in a more ethical way. it could have been a nice experimental experience, but it was banned. anyway, lets move to other gamejams that will allow it.

No AI, it's like saying no IDE? Micromanaging what tools people use won't help anyone.

He's just trying to stimulate human creativity. While a.i. can speed up certain processes it will remove any human creativity in the process.

@@timvandeneng4724 Then why don't we see any creativity in 99% of non AI projects. AI have little to do with creativity, if you put you creativity in an collaborate with AI you will get => creativity out. Where is the examples of creativity is removed, I have only seen 10x creativity in each field where it have been embraced.

so I'll explain this hope you listen. most AI content doesn't give due royalty or credit to the training models that's why it's controversial. second for a game jam it's about what you come up with not a polished game. if it's my first time doing a game jam and I work my ass off making art and building the code and game and someone just uses AI to make their entire 3d game in two days ima be bummed and feel cheated. it is an equivalent to cheating a speedrun or using hacks in a pvp online game.

@@VforVictorYT yeah if you use it wisely but some people will make their entire game with ai and call it a day. And since you can't really cap the usage of AI it might be better to ban completely

@@ibarrygames8240 I totally listen believe me, if it was enforceable in this competition and on the market I agree, but now we try to create this padded room and expect everyone to stay in it. In competitions you only have rules you can enforce, that's why I think it's a disservice to ban it.
