I love your podcasts!! You are too funny and so fun to “visit” with! I, too, seem to have lost my mojo! So sad! I can’t seem to get excited about a single project i have in progress.☹️☹️ But you are smart to cake up yarn and place pattern, needles, and yarn in a bag ready to go! I just might try that…..as if i didn’t have a bunch of WIPS just sitting around taking up space.🤣 So very sorry about your vacation! Sounds horrific. Prayers for all to recover fully very soon and to stay well the rest of the year! Bless you!❤️❤️🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

I have to say your yarn is beautiful but it's your sense of humor that keeps me watching. You are just real and it's very refreshing. I am right there with you in hot flash hell. One day my husband saw a hot flash hitting and he went and got his neck fan that he wears under his beekeeping outfit. It feels like heaven and I ordered one for myself. I take it to work - basically everywhere. It cools down the hot flash at the start so you actually don't get to the "sweat pouring down your back" stage. They're tons available on Amazon for $20-30. Don't fall for the ones that claim they are A/C's. They are not. Hit flashes suck so we now tell everyone about the neck fans. Hope it helps. Happing knitting and making beautiful yarn.

Love the sweater that is speckled then black on the bottom. I have went through the hot flashes. For me, it helped cutting out caffeine and sugar. That kind of lowered blood sugars and helped regulate body temperature. And drinking enough water to keep your system flushed out. I'm sorry to hear your trip was ruined. I love the photo of you knitting in the water. Beautiful. You are inspiring and I love seeing what you are knitting. I hope you feel better soon and enjoy your trip. Thank you for sharing all of this with us.

Hi Gina! When 2-3 days go by and knitting is the least interesting thing (usually in the hottest part of summer), I gather my project bags/baskets and put them in a cupboard so they don't get dusty and then I walk away. I'll focus on the other fun hobbies, outings with friends, break out of the usual routine, maybe try something new, etc. Sometimes I learn that it wasn't the knitting, it was my butt getting bored with my favorite chair &/or me wanting a change of scenery. Other times I realize it was my own stubborn self pushing thru a project I should have frogged after Day 2, and so on. Once I notice that I miss my knitting, I set a day 2 or 3 days off to pick it back up, and devote a little more time to exploring, having fun, etc. When I go back to the cupboard, I set the keepers out where they'll be in easy reach, frog the projects I'm not finishing, and knitting life is good again. I hope that helps! You're allowed to take a break ya know!

Love your pressed flowers and makes me want to knit it but then it seems like a long knit to me and I don't wear big shawls a lot... but I did already buy yarn for it... So sorry about your vacation! We went through a few years of having every vacation be a disaster due to illness, hurricane evacuation etc. ...it was so bad. Acadia National Park broke our cursed vacation streak. I hope your next vaca will be perfect though.

Hello, when I am out of knitting steam, I usually pick up or cast on a very quick and easy project. A washcloth, a small or very repetitive scarf, a tee-shirt I can finish in a few sessions. I personally need and instant reward with a FO. Watching other KZbin knitting videos can entertain and inspire me, but that is not what brings me back on the happy knitting tracks. Do whatever suits you 😺💛

I absolutely ADORE your podcast visits, and look forward to each new one. ❣️ So very sorry about your horrendous Beach vacation. 😪 Nightmare city. I do miss the days of family vacations, though, as a widow with grown-and-out-on-their- own-with-families-of-their-own children. It went by awfully fast. 😱 Your Pressed Flowers shawl is gorgeous, and I love your version even more than the original. The border is wonderful. ❣️ I suffered with the same kind of hot flashes, except that my face would turn beet red along with the heat...good news is, they eventually go away! Mostly. 😜 Going to head over to your shop in the hope that there is something left. No suggestions regarding the loss of knitting MOJO because, thankfully, it's never happened to me. Basically all I do is knit and read and watch Netflix. And talk on the phone with my various children and grandchildren. ⚘️Loved your suggestion a while back to watch the Righteous Gemstones and am going to give some of the books you mentioned today a read. Thanks so much! VERY excited about your stripes KAL! ❣️Thanks for sticking with it and showing up for us!

Ugh! Such heartbreak about your vacation! When I lose my mojo, I reorganize my stash. I was totally the child that would “clean my room” and get so distracted by finding my toys and books that I never cleaned. I suppose I never outgrew that, because sorting my yarn and markers and such is all it takes to rev my motor back up.

After many years taking HRT I finally stopped at 69 and I’ve been hot flashing like crazy 🥵 and one day I was in a $1. Store with the grandkids and found some pretty Asian silk and organza fans with cases to put them in. I picked up a bunch thinking they’d be good for around the pool on hot days but they are great for hot flashes. Building up my arm muscles trying to keep cool. If worse comes to worst I get ice cubes to rub all over my neck and shoulders. Soooo annoying. Great to see a video from you today, it was just fine, like a visit with a knitting friend, I always enjoy your vids. 🥰Aw, what a sin that you were all sick on your holiday🫢. My grandson was really sick last week too and it wasn’t Covid either, just a normal flu like we used to get I guess. Granddaughter got it three days ago too so must be about a3-5 day incubation period….they are not allowed around me till they are all done with it. Hope you get your mojo back soon, mine is currently dead both for knitting and cross stitch😢. At least you all got the flu early so you should be good for the rest of the summer👍🏼🙋🏼♀️

I am HERE for the KAL!! I also watch Leslie's podcast so had the heads up. I love the time frame and the theme. Plotting out what patterns to do and getting my yarn ready. So sorry for the unplanned illness during your vacation trip, total bummer. Yes, what is up with the hot flashes??? I am way past menopause and they seem to "flair" up now and again, very annoying. I do appreciate your authenticity on your podcast and all your knits are fabulous. I have not lost my mojo yet and hope to avoid. I just never have enough time to get to knit and I think that might be part of not losing it. Looking forward to seeing/hearing your NY adventures and the KAL details sound really fun. Thanks for hanging out.

Hey Gina don’t know if you’ve already tried flax seed and omega 3 for hot flashes but one of my friends swears by them. She said it has significantly reduced the number of hot flashes per day. Lori and Justine are awesome ♥️

Hi Gina: Sorry to hear that your vacation did not turn out as planned! When I lose my knitting mojo, I knit small items such as hats, mittens, baby gifts, socks, etc. Have you try soy products like tofu, soy milk, etc., to help with hot flashes? Don’t know if you are allergic to soy or not, but that’s what my friend told me when I had that problem. Have you tried preserved honey and lemon for coughs? Here’s a link kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5u0mHuQd72loZY. I make it year after year and it helps with coughs and sore throat. Thanks for the KAL with Leslie. Does a stripe baby overall counts? I have to knit baby items for my first grand child. Have an awesome fun summer, keep cool! ❤️❤️
