Solve this... Sunshine + CO2 + H20 = ? Not sure, think #energy ! New research in #solar fuels indicates these fuels could potentially replace our dwindling supply of #fossilfuels and be a much cleaner option for us and the #environment . See how we're making a difference in the world of #cleanenergy .

A wonderful project! Makes me proud to work for Berkeley Lab (along with a thousand other reasons!) I wonder: the narrator sounds like celebrated actor & activist Peter Coyote -- have I got this right? If so, thanks to him for doing this.

Inspiring work for a world in need of a new energy solution. Would love to know how plants are actually doing the conversion of photons into chemical energy, figured it was an interaction on the quantum level. But you guys are working on photosynthesis on nano scale, so is it replicating the same process as plants or is the process inherent in the nano properties of the materials that you are working with?

Using carbon dioxide, water and sunlight, we will produce super fuel, which will not give off carbon in the production of the work (with what? Burning?). If CO2 is taken away from oxygen and H2O, fuel can only be produced from compound C and H, and it will not produce carbon upon combustion?

Boondoggle. Use thorium instead.

Your one-word soundbites show how stupid you are. Show us how thorium will pull CO2 out of the air. If you haven't noticed, there is a global emergency to get as much CO2 out of the air as possible.

@@hg2. it emits co2 and co after combustion. Here the research should be obtaining energy without producing harmful substances as byproducts.
