Do you think you could demonstrate how to align a sphere on two roller pins? I have an assembly where a ball is touching the two pins (pulled by magnetic force) and can roll along the pins. Been trying everything, watched all your tutorials. Thank you and I understand if you can't.

Great video as usual. May I ask you what kind of joint should I use for a vertical pin sliding inside a buttonhole? I have tried with the "slider" one selecting a point on the vertical pin and the buttonhole side but did not work. I apologize in advance for the noob question.

Awesome as always , haven’t used Joints except when I tried it in Fusion 360 but then with Inventor it was constraints ! Lol but thank you for your detailed explanation as always ♥️

@@engineeringapplied you deserve it ! We see the hard work and effort to go through the hole dialogue box ! I told you before it’s like you are Autodesk’s sound help file

Do you know if you can make a joint origin on a sketch point? I want to make it a specific point that isn't a center of a feature. I know how to do this in Fusion but not Inventor.

Do you have a video on how to make the parts?

Not at this time. I just drew up the c-clamp as a basic example of how to use the Joint command in a practical manner. I can definitely put that on my list of future videos for sure though. Thank you for watching and for taking the time to reach out!

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO EQUALLY SPACE PARTS IN AN ASSEMBLY, LIKE SHLEVES IN A SHELF ASSEMBLY...
@engineeringapplied
@engineeringapplied 3 жыл бұрын
Sure! Please see the following steps (8 Steps): 1. Put your first part (shelf for example) in place with constraints. 2. Then, click the "pattern" tool found in the "Pattern" section under the "Assemble" tab. 3. Next, click on the components you want to replicate or evenly space. 4. Click on the tab for the rectangular pattern (the symbol looks like 6 dots positioned in two columns and three rows). 5. Click your selection filter (little arrow) in the "column" section and pick a line, edge, axis, etc. that falls in the direction you want to replicate your parts in. 6. Enter the number of total parts you want in the pattern. For example, if you want four total shelves, type "4" in the "column count" box. 7. Enter your spacing in the spacing parameter box just below it. 8. Finally, click "OK" and you're all done! This works like the rectangular pattern tool in a sketch/part.

@@engineeringapplied hey buddy thanks for the response, but this didn't work for me. let me explain. I am creating a screw and nail storage area made of drawers. think a card catalog in the local library, but used for nails and screws. I am designing it with oak, and maybe some mahogany highlights. i am a wood worker and i use Inventor to design my projects. i have two sizes of lumber i am going to use. when i am building i always try to design my projects with as little waste as possible. That means that if i am using a 10 foot x 11 1/4 inch piece of wood, i want to design my projects so there is little cutting as possible. in other words, i want to build my storage cabinet to be 3 times as wide as the wood i am using, that is 11 1/4 x 3... that is the height. width would be about 36 inches wide. anyway, i wanted to make my drawers to be evenly spaced along the 33 3/4 height. and i need vertical separators between each drawer that is 3/4 inch thick, which is the thickness of my wood. i have five drawers across, separated by 3/4 inch uprights between drawers. and i need those exactly evenly spaced. but my measurements just arent allowing me to make an exact measurement of the drawers and uprights. so i thought that i would try to place my uprights first, finding a way to measure them exactly between the sides of the case, and when i have that, i can measure how width the drawers would be. So i have to have a way to figure out the exact equal distance between two vertical sides. i need five drawers, so i would have to figure out how to define an exact measurement of those five drawers between the two sides.and remember those drawers are separated by 3/4 inch, the width of the verticals separating the boards. am i making any sense at all?...lol
