@Fight Fly Crow probably not....most wing chun schools DONT spar because the art is too deadly …...that's what I have been told every time i entered a wing chun school and asked about sparring …..

@Fight Fly Crow It's not easy to see WC sparring. My Sifu and one of his brothers (WC system partner) made an amazing spar in one of our classes a week ago. Unfortunately we didn't record it as they become fighting with no previous announcement 😔

Yeah, I'm a WT-practitioner, too, for over 20 years now. I like the system & the idea, but there are merely good fighters or even good teachers. They punch & kick like sissies! So what shall pupils learn from that? Just to be themselves like that... Best thing is to mix WingTsun with something aggressive like Muay Thai, Bjj, MMA, Boxing, Karate, TKD or even Capoeira for the Fitness. WT alone let's you stay relatively weak & unexperienced as a fighter. And I say this as a real fanboy of that system. :)

From 6:34 onwards, it seems like they are sliding into boxing (in a clumsy way), and "rediscovering" boxing's battle-proven extensive arsenal: shift, slips, angles, passive defences, counters, combos, feints. So, I'd rather stick with my boxing...

@@FrodeFalch How so? The saying means that it's not the style that's bad, it's the person who practises it. Old style Wing Chun is massively flawed yet people who have an open mind & evolve, are generally more successful with said art. Alan Orr is a good example of this. Not exactly sure where you're getting confused with this?

The biggest weakness of WC is its long term practice of sticky hand, ignoring footwork and out-of-pocket interaction. No two people would stand tall in punching range and see whose hands are faster. BTW, gotta love that telegraphic hook toward the end of the video. Try keeping things real, bro.

I thought they wouldn’t cover the boxing hook. But they did. But the uppercuts were too wide. And easy to be intercepted. I guess, the masters are assuming that the people attending the seminar are already at that level to know how to block those uppercuts, but not everyone in the room seemed to know about it. They should cover all the punching variations and basic defence first then move to wing gun techniques as it could cause a lot of misunderstanding for novices.

I believe the best wingchun is one which can tackle karate speeds effect or àny other martial art .,like taekwondo..we demonstrating the effectiveness of wing chun don't use wing chun opponent ateast use àn opponent from a difrent martial art

I don't know man, but I rather learn JKD from Bruce Lee and some brazilian jujitsu and a little bit of muay thai. Wing chun is like a form of tai chi but in a kick-boxing motion. I think there are some serious wing chun masters out there but they probably don't want to expose themselves to the world.

probably not....this type of training is a total waste of time and money.....like Dream Catcher said ….best to take some form of jujitsu and either boxing or muay thai and you should be set.....wing chun only has a chance when your opponent is either drunk or has no fight experience …..

The real problem with Wing Chun is the practitioner generally cannot fight.. if you put Wing Chun techniques in the hands of someone who actually can fight the system works rather well... from my experience 90% of Wing Chun practitioners generally are pencil necks so-called Geeks you know the type. Dear Wing Chun practitioners your skill is only valid against other Wing Chun guys

@@Thongsai you're quite right I sparred one who had four years in the system... from the lineage of Ip Man... we started to spar from a close hand to hand Wing Chun position, my first move was I yanked his hand down to my waist followed up with a straight kick right toward his head did not make contact but held my leg in that position in front of his face and I watched his eyes grow wide open he was clueless I could have kicked his head completely off

This exercise isn't really a meaningful engagement with an assailant, ( as some would assume) but really a Chi SAU exercise to feel you opponents energy of the direction he or she exploring it
