Always loved this song. I’ve always seen it as the self destruction that a lot of people go through when they lose that one person

The video is so perfect yet so chaotic. Perfect representation of how self destructive we humans can be, when something else goes wrong, making everything even worse

True work of art. I’ve always seen the video as a display of the chaotic, self destructive behaviors people can go through after a break up or any trauma. You see at the beginning the pure chaos and craziness. In the second verse, we get a glimpse of some of the failed relationships of the chaotic individuals. And then towards the end; holding their heads, punching themselves, sitting down in the road. Overwhelmed and devastated with the people they have become. Such a powerful message that pairs with jojis lyrics about the self destructive nature of not letting go.

7:57 - 8:21, what you said here is extremely relatable for me right now and honestly it feels good to hear someone else say that, i don't wanna talk too much but it's certainly self destructive for any relationship, it isn't fair for the new partners because they're themselves, not the ex, love the videos, i hope you have a good day

When this came out, my girlfriend of 7 years left me on my birthday over text after not remembering it was even my birthday. I can't listen to this without breaking down like a fool, but it's so flawless.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. Obviously I don’t know anything about you or your relationship but nobody deserves to be treated that carelessly. You didn’t deserve that and I hope, should you want another relationship, that you find one where you and your partner meet each other equally with love, support, compassion, and care. Should you not want a relationship (or not for a while) I hope you find everything you need to be fulfilled in life within yourself. Take care. ❤

This song has such a beautiful sound to it it almost entrances me everytime I hear it. I love how with music we can relate to things by kind of disecting it and taking different parts away from it.. for me this song makes me think about not missing another person in my current relationship, but missing who we were like 5 or 6 years ago, missing the excitement and love and happiness we shared then before years passed by and we became complacent

In the music video, you hear "you good?" a few times. As someone who has gone through this, especially going through it as a young adult (10th/11th grade), having that line uttered to me was usually an opportunity to express my grief of losing the "love of my life" but unwilling to show weakness to "my boys" ended up doing something stupid instead. So to hear them ask each other if they're good then immediately show something reckless in the next scene is extremely relatable. Extremely unhealthy, but the thought process is never linear when dealing with this sort of emotion. The song seems like an inner monologue while the video is the cope. At the end when the camera zooms in on that one guy squatted on his own, watching the car burn could be a representation of him finally understanding that what he had will never be a "what he has". That pain is hard to describe, but seeing that as the music fades just feels like a "this is it, this is my life now" kind of moment. But that's just what I took away from it. I could be off, but the beautiful thing about music is that, if done right, could open many doors for conversation.

my interpretation is young men are told to hold everything inside. That and I feel like men will do anything to drown out suffocating sadness. Some men channel that sorrow into drugs and alcohol. I channel mine into unhealthy gaming sessions with my online friends. Men are like volcano's, the destructive magma is only skin deep.
