Ladies and gentlemen if you're really straining to hit notes stop trying to hit them if your vocals are not really liking it. It's okay to stretch your vocals but you should stretch your vocals when you're working into it for vocal warm ups. And build into training your voice to develop range. Because when you're doing what she is talking about where you're just trying so hard to hit a certain note in a song and your vocally not able to hit it and you're talking about your face turning red and how you're really trying really hard and you can feel the strain that's your voice telling you to stop. Because what you are doing to your vocals at that point is damaging them.

as someone who was classically trained, that note shouldn't be too hard to hit, it's not even that high. I think Jojo just has an issue with finding the difference between screaming and singing, which is important to know the difference. Now, I have heard her sing instead of scream and she has a very good voice. You just don't need volume to hit high notes, and she even hit a higher note in her recent song (not really her song, but you know). I think she was just focusing on the volume rather than the tone, which is a surefire way to damage your voice.

The note isn’t even actually that high when you really listen, I’d say a high C at most. I guess it’s high if you don’t have much vocal training or if you have a lower voice but I’m an alto and I can hit it pretty easily.
