JoJo Siwa Reveals If Abby Lee Miller Makes An Appearance On Her New Dance Show

JoJo Siwa and her mother Jessalynn Siwa joined Mario Lopez and Kit Hoover on Access Daily to chat about her new show, "Siwas Dance Pop Revolution" on Peacock and was asked if Abby Lee Miller from "Dance Moms" would be making an appearance. "Abby is definitely not on it," JoJo said. While adding that her own mom would, "be the Abby Miller that's on the show, but she's not the type." "Siwas Dance Pop Revolution" is available now on Peacock.

You're in luck then. There are of course similarities to DM... both are reality shows, and there is only so much that one can do with the format. But there are some differences as well. 1) DM was unscripted, but it was storyboarded and the producers contrived & engineered a lot of the situations... this on the other hand is refreshingly, pure 'fly on the wall'. 2) JoJo & Jess are nurturing, and JoJo is positive and encouraging when she gives corrections. There was one instance when a girl she was correcting started crying, and JoJo immediately went over and comforted her. 3) JoJo also leads the routines she is teaching in front of the studio mirrors, so the girls can see what she wants them to do (instead of just being yelled at!). 4) Instead of Pyramid at the beginning of the episode, starting at the 'bottom' and working up... JoJo & Jess's show ends with the elimination, starting with those dancers they have chosen to keep, and finishing with the girl they are sending home. 5) The aim of the show is to create a pop group capable of dancing to their numbers, so in EP3 &/or EP4, the girls are taken to a recording studio with JoJo's vocal coach to record a song! So far, with JoJo's choreography, the dancers have been to 3 genuine competitions and... placed 4th with their first entry... came 1st & 3rd the following week, with just 1.2 points (0.4%) between the 2 groups... and 2nd (by 1/10th of a point) a week later... so she must be doing something right! Check out this Dance Coach's (and professional Musical Theatre dancer) reaction to the first 4 episodes, and if you are intrigued, the 2nd link is for the show if you haven't got or (like me) can't watch Peacock where you live... you can at least skip to the last 10 minutes or so of episodes 2, 3 & 4 (no comp dance in EP.1) to watch the dances and see JoJo's & Jess's reaction and approach afterwards.
