It seemed to be implied that his Stand powers only awakened very recently, even when he becomes aware of his powers, he doesn't seem to understand how he's suddenly able to summon meteors from the sky. all the fights in the ward were really slow for me though. i didn't mind it when i first read it, but man if i could compare it, its like going through the tediously long tutorials in a zelda game before you can finally get to the fun parts again. tolerable at best when you first play the game, but a barrier if you ever want to replay it. i actually barely remember any of the fights in the ward ngl. the anime certainly made it more fast paced and tolerable though. my personal favorite is bohemian rhapsody. but hey, we have our opinions, and there aren't many people who like anything from the high security arc, so any love it gets means something!
