I Traveled To An ANCIENT Water Town (Venice Of Shanghai) Is The REAL China Safe? & Christmas Market!

Today we are traveling to Zhujiajiao, an Ancient Water town located in Shanghai! Tt's considered the Venice Of Shanghai! Also we check out a cute shanghai Christmas market in the city, and I give you my thoughts about china being safe.

Hi, another great excursion. The Disney adult out of his element, but ultimately finds the Disney store in the city, lol. The open air market/shop/water area was beautiful - it felt ancient. That tunnel ride in the city was crazy & the city itself was amazing. The Christmas market was a nice vibe though the crowds were a bit much TBH. This was great!!

Understand, but China is very safe, generally do not worry about pickpockets, just worry about too much food and beautiful scenery, money loss very quickly

I went there back in the late 90s, it’s basically been changed into a commercial tourist spot. It’s basically lost its authenticity by commercial shops etc, but I suppose it’s hard to keep something authentic when everyone sees the tourist $$$$ to cash in on

The soft-shell turtle is famous for its nourishment so people always make soup with it when they are diagnised with malnutrition. There are actually thousands of soft-shell turtle farms in China just like cow farms or pig farms in the west. They are very common food in China. By the way, more than 99% of the Chinese never eat dog meat in their whole lives. You can hardly find a restuarant in any big cities in China that serves dog meat. As far as I know, there are only two prefectures in China which has the tradition of eating dog meat. That's about 2 million people out of 1.4 billion.

Sea turtles and soft-shelled turtles are different. What you see in those big pots are cultured soft-shelled turtles, not endangered sea turtles. People can eat soft-shelled turtles. Repeat: We Chinese don't eat sea turtles, but we eat cultured soft-shelled turtles.

ha that is not turtle, they cannot survive in the sea, and they are not wild animals but raised by ppl, same as other fishes, crabs, hens, ducks, pigs etc. China has strick laws on hunting and eating wild animals. Turtle (that big one in the sea) is protected animal according to law.
