Difficult =/= Bad. Dragunov is carried because he’s easy. Kazuya isn’t because he’s hard, but Kazuya is an extremely able character… all the mishimas are a little bit stronger than their rank reflects imo

He is a lion when he is the one attacking but a little cute cat when receiving pressure, 0 panic button. High level Kazuya will wavedash on your face while you poop your pants, its insane

I main Jun, and I absolutely love playing her. If I get a hard read that you’re going to throw a punch, I can launch you for ~85 damage. She’s definitely not bottom tier. I’d argue that the only thing keeping her out of S tier is that her df2 launcher and hop kick are both i16. But she does have an i14 ws launcher. So either way, very strong character.

Kuma is not B tier and joka did Kazuya dirty, and i main the dude. But in a tournament setting i can understand why hes in B. Downplaying heihachi is crazy but i dont think anyone is downplaying him but with heihachi he has like no tracking and struggles to open up opponents. His damage is crazy but you have to most of the time relying on wiff punishing and his pokes are kinda mid. And warrior instinct is strong but normal heat heihachi in my opinion is much more threatening. Kazuya players like to downplay him with SWL but heihachi all you have to do is SWL because most of his moves have very little to NO tracking. I based this opinion only by fighting him in random ranked matches

Character Matchups really skew the tier list for me. Reina, Kuma, Heihachi, DJ and Steve can all go up or down the list depending on the character im playing as.

I think everyone's opinion on a character is shaped by the players of that character you play. Like you said that you can handle law players pretty easily but if you play against very good law players who use those same moves in different ways you might even put him in S tier.

@@ricey3952 I hear "annoying" a lot but I'm not really grasping how her tools are any more annoying than anyone else's. I'd be more sympathetic if the critique was more specific. She's definitely strong and probably could use balance tweaks and I wouldn't claim otherwise. But that goes for basically every character on the roster. Not trying to speak for anyone else but it seems like people are annoyed by the character for the same reason they've always been annoyed by her (and characters of her ilk). Her playstyle is built around learning your opponent's game plan and disrupting it and to that I'd say, I think interacting with my opponent is a good thing. I thought that was the point of playing games with other human beings. Sorry for the long reply. I just kinda wish everyone would take their main-shaming down a notch. Except Drag. Nerf that freak lol.

For me, the thing that makes Ling annoying/irritating to play against is the evasiveness of some of her stances, and the complexity of her setups. I think it's wild that both ling and zafina have stances that can go under mids is insane. I also think that the ling vortex is particularly difficult to get out of because of her speed and different options for setups on opponents wake up.

And that logic almost discredits other peoples issues with her, because you are simply telling us to learn the matchup. Ofc we can learn it, but even after learning it her tools are still very tricky to work around. This isn't me asking for nerfs, it is me explaining why people generally dislike her, in the same way they can dislike someone like Hwo. It may have counter play, but still be quite difficult to actually counter. Whether its AOP evasion, RDS throw mixups/cancelling throws into other mixups, HYP mixups especially on oki, or her setup potential that can blow you up with the wrong wakeup. These are tools that create a negative connotation because it is quite difficult to deal with. In addition to her other strengths, I am simply showing you why all these can become quite overwhelming, even for high level players who know the matchup. In a game where characters even at low tiers are still tourney viable, a top 10 with unconventional tools is annoying for most. I am not trying to shame anyone's main, I am trying to explain why characters similar to Xiaoyu are generally annoying for most, even after learning the matchup. Because she is a strong character with tools difficult to counter.

Lidia is definitely not B tier in my opinion, if you can't get a counter hit df2 or a counter hit FF2 you're basically cooked as Lidia. If neither of those things happen you have almost nothing left. Hopkick that does piss more damage, no reliable launcher. No lows etc etc etc. She is painful to play if you can't get heat rolling. Any player that even has a shred of Lidia knowledge is going to make sure you can't get a DF2 or FF2 CH and then it becomes insanely difficult to play. You can always step and B2 I guess but then that's i18 so yeah.. not the quickest and can't be used for punishment. Xiaoyu, Eddy and Alisa are just flailing messes, too much visual noise, nothing is clear every move every move is unintelligible, is it a high, is it a low? Who knows they look the same.
