You feel glad when he killed the subway guys or Murray, even though you also know its wrong. Sometimes in the real world I wish I could have done something to those who bullied me. But in reality I never could because I never wanted to lower myself to their level. And in a ironic twist, as adults, those who bulled me I have seen and they have terrilbe lives now. Comedic gold in its own way. Again, I don't really wish them to have a crappy life, but I would be lying if I said I didn't get some enjoyment out of karma giving back to them what they gave me.

You have your eyes open, not blinded by fairytales. Sadly alot of people are still stumbling in the dark, being led and following wherever they are told. Hopefully one day they will see. Don't worry about those Haters. Their judgement means Nothing. Some people live sheltered lives and don't know what it's like to truly struggle just living day to day. Oh my dears, you're reaction seems like it was exactly like mine the first time I saw it. I cried throughout, off & on. It was such an epic, absolutely phenomenal movie. Taking a comic book character and making him real and feel empathy and love and caring for him was so amazing. It took me awhile and watching it a few more times, to let it all sink in and wrap my head around it all. I absolutely loved it!!!! 😍❤👍💛👏👏👏👏👏 Joaquin winning the Oscar was SO well deserved! His performance and the music and directing and cinematography and lighting was just all spot on and sent chills down my spine and goosebumps on my skin, even when I just saw the trailers of this. I think it touches so many of us, as you said too, bcs there are these issues and problems going on in our world & societies, esp where mental illness or poverty or even bullying etc... Gets swept under the rug and not dealt with properly and there's never enough funding from Govts to help those who most need it. So we end up with all these mass shootings going on and homelessness is rampant in the mentally ill community. It's a disgrace and I'm so thankful this movie was made to put a spotlight on it, using Joker. Cuz it reached millions more then if it was just a movie about a man with mental illness. Of course he suffered from many issues, childhood PTSD, his laughing disorder, he naturally would be narcissistic (since his Mother was, and he had all his grandiose delusions). So basically he started out a good person, but his childhood and society turned him into a serial killer who finally felt like he mattered and had numbed his truest nature of goodness. It's a heart breaking yet truly beautiful movie to watch. Even the ending, you were like me, almost feeling bad for smiling and cheering on the chaos ... Yet I don't think any of us should feel bad. Cuz I think so many of us kinda related. Maybe some moreso. Even tho we don't condone violence.. It just seems like redemption for him. And it does make you smile. ☺ Peace and wellness to you sweet ladies. Thank you for sharing, I really enjoyed it and hope you read this. 🤗 Edit add-on: I agree about everyone has some craziness, we do but most can control and handle the madness, for some i think it's too much and they tip over the cliff of craziness to madness... Then you have serial killers, mass shooters, etc... They can't handle the craziness and want to end it all. So they hurt others bcs they hurt, and then they get caught and consequences. It doesn't make what they do ok, never, but this movie so eloquently shows perhaps the process of creating a madman. Taking a tiny soul,child and putting them in a violent, neglectful childhood then sending them into a cruel world where they are bullied and perhaps can't cope or associate. It's really a dreadful synopsis of events that lead people to these deeds and actions. I, along with millions, was cheering Arthur on! Would I cheer on a mass shooter or serial killer in real life... Prob not. But this movie just helped us understand those who suffer, truly suffer with conditions out of their control and have empathy and yes, give a cheer when they get a bit of redemption. Ok.. I'm off my soapbox lol 😄 Best to you gals!

@petrgalko41523 жыл бұрын
@@thomassmith6232 Yep he did. The main joke of this movie or atleast of Arthur's life was that the few things that were suppose to keep him stable and in the moment were the things that kept him outside! So when he embraced his quirks and flaws and learned the truth about his mother and his upbringing he could finally let lose and became aware and present! In Arthur's eyes, everybody is asleep. And him and even the comic book Joker are constantly looking for a connection with someone who can share his point of view and experiences with the society. Which is why when Joker finally meet Batman he instantly feel in love with him! That said the Doc is dead because like the rest of Gotham she doesn't really cared about Arthur. She was there because Arthur had psychiatric evaluations assigned from the court after the incident that he caused in Gotham. That is why Joker didn't kill Harley in the comic books! Unlike the rest Harley was genuenly curious and wanted to help and understand! And Joker realized that and exploited that! So instead of telling Hatley a joke he turned her into one!

And I always get a laugh when people cheer on the phrases kill the rich or eat the rich. Poverty and wealth has many levels and to some people maybe YOU are the rich... I'm gonna explain you something about the "Murray killing scene" because clearly you didn't "get it": In that scene the director SUBVERTS the viewer. He takes you to the direction that he wants and makes you think that Murray is the devil and Arthur is completely innocent. He only shows you ONE SIDE of the coin. This is beyond suspense. But if you look at the big picture, Murray isn't more "idiot" or a "moron" than some "talk show" presenter such as letterman, conan or kimmel. And Arthur is a man with SEVERE problems (most of them are external, not his fault) that led him to immerse entirely into madness. So that's all. That's the situation: A man who sees everything with that horrendous background and a funny presenter who just takes the role of an "idiot". When Murray makes fun of him and Arthur is watching the show at the hospital, he's just playing a "presenter" role (not even thinking about Arthur himself), but for the mind of Arthur he is mocking and trying to ridicule him. Murray is completely normal and fine. Arthur is the one with VERY SERIOUS problems, which of course, need to be addressed. The magic here is in Todd Phillips' direction and Joaquin Phoenix's incredible performance

We mustn't accept the dangerous message that having a difficult life is an excuse for evil. We have to keep loving each other. We must have as much mercy as we can provide. It's the only way with any hope.

The is a supervillain who appears in American comic books published by DC Comics. The Joker was created by Bill Finger, Bob Kane, and Jerry Robinson and first appeared in the debut issue of the comic book on April 25, 1940. The Joker possesses no superhuman abilities, instead using his expertise in chemical engineering to develop poisonous or lethal concoctions and thematic weaponry, including razor-tipped playing cards, deadly joy buzzers, and acid-spraying lapel flowers. The Joker has been adapted in live-action, animated, and video game incarnations, including the 1960s television series played by Cesar Romero and in films by Jack Nicholson in (1989), Heath Ledger in (2008), Jared Leto in the DC Extended Universe (2016-present), and Joaquin Phoenix in (2019); Ledger and Phoenix each earned an Academy Award for their portrayals. Mark Hamill and others have provided the character's voice ranging from animation to video games.

This joker, as well as the construction workers from Spider-Man homecoming, are kinda valid. They got screwed over by the system, and they fought back.

You guys need need need N E E D to react to taxi driver if you thought this movie was cool. Joker takes a lot from taxi driver and another Martin Scorsese film named The King of Comedy. Scorsese was even thinking about producing the movie (joker) himself for years but never actually got anything started. Oh and Robert De Niro (Murray Franklin) is the main character in Taxi Driver, if you thought Joaquin Phoenix was good you’ll be blown away by De Niro

I didn't realize that he killed the therapist in the last scene until the second viewing. I always had a problem understanding the Joker's motivations in the batman series, until I watched this movie. I now see how the Joker can be capable of anything that catches his interest, no logic needed.

The part on the train when he shoots the Wall Street guys. The guy he shoots on the steps, it’s self defense after 1 shot. But he shot the guy multiple times which makes it murder.

I love this movie and in my opinion the story never happened because they show him and his mother in the same hospital and in the end he is still there saying you wouldn't get it. Also in the comics know one knows the jokers true story because he keeps making them up. It's shown in the dark knight when the joker has multiple reasons on how he got his scars.
