yeah. it's not a coincidence that almost all serial killers have terrible childhoods. this stuff doesn't happen in a vacuum. there've been studies of baby chimps being removed from their mothers at a young age and split into two groups. one without any motherly figure, and the other with a stuffed animal. the ones who lived in isolation turned out messed up, unable to adapt to the wild. the other was still messed up but with much more normal behaviours. you can't put a child through repeated abuse, trauma, distress, etc and expect a positive outcome. not to justify the actions of serial killers, but i think their history needs to be taken into consideration.

This movie was haunting and affecting. It's a truly great movie, but is tough to watch because it tackles uncomfortable issues about mental illness and how society has often failed to provide the necessary care to those suffering with mental illness. My favorite part of the movie - and what I feel is the most chilling part as well - is how one of the rioters kills Bruce Wayne's parents. No matter the iteration, the time setting, or whoever's wearing the mantles, Batman and the Joker are inescapably linked, their destinies interwoven. In the very most twisted (and obviously not romantic) sense of the term, they're soulmates. It is impossible for one to ever exist without the other, and if one did, the other would not be long behind. The creepiest part? I believe on some instinctual level, deep down in their subconscious, in their heart of hearts, they both know this. It's just as terrifying as it is tragic.

BATMAN BEGINS...THE DARK KNIGHT RISES... :) The beauties had no knowledge of Batman and Joker before watching this. Interesting reaction. It is a problem this whole world has to help those who are struggling and have empathy and kindness. Even tho this movie is difficult to watch, I still love as one of my favorites and it is a masterpiece, truly epic. ❤👏👏👏👏👏❤ Btw, the dance sequence in the subway or wherever bathroom (not his bathroom at home) scene, with the amazing cello piece, is prob my fave. It's not just that people "made" him; they BEAT him into it. His adoption mom, whose partners abused him to the point of brain damage, and who abused him herself through sheer emotional neglect... his colleague who's a big bully... the system that's just not giving him the right needs and is falling apart... All of this would send him the message that him trying to be cooperative and kind leads to him getting hurt, and him rebelling against everything that hurts him is being validated and encouraged. If going up the stairs is saddening and heavy, and going DOWN the stairs is cheerful and joyous... then why not commit? This movie brilliantly helps you sympathize with this poor man, while at the same time making a statement that his "growth" is a tragedy. He shouldn't kill people... He shouldn't hurt the ones hurting him... But at the same time, you can't really blame him... Gotham is a terrible place to live, especially if you're dependent on the healthcare system... Also, I don't know if you girls caught it; that little boy is Bruce Wayne, who would later go on to become Batman, after his parents were murdered in that alleyway right in front of him.

OMG! You two are going to need years of therapy after watching this movie. It was an incredible performance by one of the greatest actors in Hollywood. Like you, I felt ill after watching this film. Gut wrenching.

I remember watching this in theaters and jumping when he shot Murray. I couldn't believe it. I didn't expect it at all or at least at that very moment. That is what makes a great movie.

Hey, I love'd this reaction from you. So sincere, just watching you ladies react the way you do reminds of how people have lost their innocence in this world 🌎. Your empathy for the main character was so genuine. Please, please, please never change and keep up the great videos.

Once Thomas and Martha Wayne were murdered in that alley in front of their son Bruce, it was the beginning of the Batman.

His mother was a monster, too. She wasn't innocent. He killed her for a reason (I'm not saying he was right to kill her. Obviously it was wrong)

That scene of him dancing on the steps was done 3 blocks away from there I live in the Bronx. Everyone was taking pictures on those steps when this movie was released. So the way I see it Gotham in the Batman movies is the equivalent of Manhattan in real life

The was such a fantastic version of the Joker. I hope you watch the Nolan films and get to see their version of the Joker. In the comics the Joker goes through various transformations in character, motivations, his backstory always changing as if these were different people. I would also recommend watching DC's animated the Killing Joke for you to get a deeper understanding of the character.

You were on to something at the end there -- the couple that were killed in front of their son were The Wayne family, Mother and Father of Bruce Wayne - who goes on to become Batman.
