Fun fact: she does not prefer singing. She always wanted to be an actress rather than a singer! I think thats why she studied acting for many years and why she likes so much making personas of herself and all of her craziness

Lady Gaga has been acting for a few years now, and she's actually good at it. The director said its not exactly a Musical, but music is an element in it. So its not going to be like a Broadway musical . Joker is DC, but its not in the DCU by James Gunn. James Gunn naned films like this as Elsewhere DC films. Like in another Universe.

The ironic part of everyone making fun of this being a musical is the fact that musicals MAKE people like YOU uncomfortable and that’s exactly what the character of the joker does. That’s why it fits so perfectly. Like, I have to laugh. 😂 (also, anyone who says musicals are bad hasn’t watched musicals. there’s a reason it’s a multi billion dollar industry.)

I quite enjoy musicals in theater, just not a fan of them on the big screen with some acceptions, La la land was good for example! But it's not everyones cup of tea.. I do agree, if it can make people uncomfortable then it serves a purprose, the whole point of cinema is to get you emotional..good or bad emotions, it doesn't matter, it can be argued that it's more important than the story even. ( I myself am a film editor - guy with the longest hair that looks like he hasn't slep for a week) hahah, and we also have a theater actor among us, so.. we do appreciate the arts, but some of us are not directly artists, and that's the point of having a group viewing, to spark a conversation. ^^

I'm very invested in Lady Gaga playing a more "real", gritty harley. Margot's harley was good but its super comic booky and over the top, she looks like margot in a harley halloween costume

Imagine if Joaquin and Gaga’s Joker & Harley Quinn collaborate with Robert Pattinson’s Batman and Zoe Kravitz’s Catwoman. Hope Joker: Folie á Deux could get a 2hrs 30mins run-time this time. Will Lady Gaga get an Oscar, Golden Globe, Critics Choice Awards, and SAG Awards for her performance as Quinn? If Phoenix can win, then why NOT her?

Totally, hopefully they do it tastefully, sometimes less is more..the less that happens, the higher impact it would have.. i'd say once or twice through the movie would be cool..it really depends on the writing, but yeah.. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!

i dislike musical movie too, but star is born is musical movie and i don't think it's a musical like lala land.. It's not heavily focused on music and still makes sense.

Oh wow! Look at all the engagement in the comments! Love it! I didn't like it. Felt like too much real world politics had to much say in the script. The first turned out to be idolized by the far right and it feels like they are desperately trying to sever that connection at the expense of good writing.
