One thing I did notice was that when joker is watching TV, he's watching the cartoon pepe le pew, a skunk who always falls in love with a cat who looks like a skunk due to getting paint on her. An analogy for the joker and Harley. He sees her as something she isn't. 🤔

i'm honestly excited for the musical aspect of this film. i've never been "drawn" to musicals but this movie looks AMAZING. one theory i have for why this movie is a musical: all the singing scenes are what harley quinn is imagining, kind of like how joker imagined parts of the first movie. why is harley imagining a musical of all things? because she's madly in love with joker. one could say they have "mad love".

well we saw how they escape Arkham. Harley sets the place on fire. But the big thing about these films is what is real, what is fake and only in his head, and what is a mix of the two? love it, because the trailer doesn't necessacaily tell any of the story really. For all we know the entire film is his imagination. (doubt it but it could be)

Since the first movie dealt with reality and imagination too, Harley could indeed be his therapist. Just think of Shutter Island where Ruffalo seemed to be Leo's colleague, but in the end he just was in the latter's mind.

The shooter wore a red clown wig, set off smoke bombs inside the theater, and started shooting everybody. Twelve people were killed and 70 others were injured, 58 of which were gunshot wounds. The shooter later claimed that he was the Joker. If they have Joaquin’s Joker kill any in-universe audience, it will immediately receive backlash, and rightly so. It would just be insensitive to the theater employees as well as the families of the victims of the Aurora shootings. Hope this clears things up.

Well much like Eric mentioned, you can have your usual Joker interpretation, and you can have a Joker interpretation like this. That's the beauty of having different creators on the wheel of these characters if done right. Much like how the comics have different interpretations of the same characters regardless if it lines up with the main rendition we know of or not. It is an elseworlds story, so if they want to do something a bit different, they can as long as the writing is good. Which I don't doubt Todd Phillips at all.
