thank u for not calling this movie terrible. yeah i've been hearing a lot of people say this 2nd Joker movie was awful :/ . i was really looking forward to watching it soon hopefully. i watched the 1st one just recently which i thought was pretty good. i hate that this 2nd one according to u, was not very well put together unfortunately. but i'll definitely give this one a look. maybe in the comforts of my own home sumtime. thanks for the review :) .

Yea, I think it is something you can watch at home. If you would rather see it on the big screen that is your choice. I wonder if having this film be made years apart from the first was a factor.

Great review Rob. I saw about an hour of the first film other week on tv and have to say I thought it was a boring pile of pretentious self indulgence. Yes the cinematography was great, but it takes for ever to tell you not very much at all. We get it he's nuts. And they rip the train station shooting from Deathwish. Good to hear your views Rob, cheers.😎

I will admit it has derivative moments. Bit from the last act remind me of Scorsese's Kings of Comedy with Robert DiNero. I think why I liked it was it was timely when it came out. At the time, people were having health services cut off and COVID messed up the economy. Plus Phoenix I thought was great. This one disappointed.

@@RandBreviews Yes Pheonix is a great modern day actor. I would say himself, Jake Gyllenhaal, Ryan Gosling & Andrew Garfield are some of best young actors around today. To be fair I didn't watch all of it. I guess it felt very slow and was more of character study to me. But it's well made for sure. Have you watched any old flicks recently Rob. Are you planning going to watch the Christopher Reeve film. Cheers Rob, take it easy😎
@RandBreviews2 ай бұрын
I agree. Joker is not a superhero movie. It is a character study. Although to fair there have been people that liked it and people who didn't. Yes, I recently reviewed SOB from 1981. It is a satire on Hollywood from Blake Edwards if you want to check it out. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b37PiX6kd9mnpZo

Loved the first one soooooooooo... This is disappointing.

I think it might be worth watching when it is available on DVD streaming but it just wasn't as good as the first one.

I'm glad you didn't go for the jugular and rip the film apart, like almost everyone else Rob. There are obviously some great elements in there but unfortunately they just don't gel.
@RandBreviews2 ай бұрын
Thank you for watching and leaving a comment. There was some good elements, but it didn't come together. Not sure if it was too long since the first film or if it even needed a sequel to start with.

i finally watched this film. i thought it was amazing, but it had an awful ending. i loved when they did Bewitched, Bothered, and Bewildered. (one of my favorite songs by Ella Fitzgerald) . i hated the fact that Arthur openly admitted that there was no joker and that it was all an act. i truly believed he was sick and needed help (not the death penalty) . the ending really sucked when he finally got stabbed just before his "visitor" showed up to see him as he made it back to the jail after the trials. i'm assuming the visitor was Harley, but i guess we'll never know as he got stabbed by a random guy trying to tell him a joke and finally stabbed him in the stomach and laughing about it. R.I.P. to this film
@RandBreviewsКүн бұрын
I agree. I thought he was mentally ill based on what went on in the first film. I thought Lady Gaga was good as Harley. It was a disappointment for me. I feel like it took too long to get the sequel done and even then it was not good.

Honestly, stay away from online reviews before you watch a movie these days, if you are interested from the Trailor clip. I like your thoughts, you kept it objective. And yea idk how Todd can return to write the script, and make is less smart... How?

Thanks for watching and leaving a comment. Yea, I think there were good ideas but it didn't come together and was a bit unfocused. Honestly, I think the first film would have been enough. I bet when they offered Todd Phillips to do this one, he was like...wait what?
@Sonic_jaded2 ай бұрын
@@RandBreviews It may seem a bit ironic that I'm watching your vid, which is a review, but I was never gonna watch the sequel anyway and I respect your thoughts. I actually do watch movies without exposing myself to Reviews until I'm done watching the film FIRST haha.

I do as well. After I wrote my script, I looked reviews so as not to be influenced. What did you think of the first one?
@Sonic_jaded2 ай бұрын
To me, it was a glorified story of Joker, nothing beats TAS Joker in my opinion and some comicbooks of Joker.. Hollywood just not using the writers and etc they used to have.

@@RandBreviews I don't want retellings, I want a compelling story that is solid... the last movie I watched was Dune.. I don't like them breaking it into parts but its doing alright as far as a compelling interesting story from the books
