This was great. I’ve been maining Joker for almost a year now and it’s great to see a guide with so much passion and deep understanding of the character. You only get this level of information from experience. Looking forward to the gun guide, been practicing gun loops/combos but it’s hard to find solid answers without a training mod pack. I think that’s a video that could really help Joker players take their punish game to the next level. Glad to have you back Maje

Just popped this video and watched it through. Smash is a game I’ve enjoyed for years, and I’ve always loved the uniqueness of Ultimate’s roster. But after having played online for years (there’re no locals near me), the game felt stale due to my own habits and lack of expanding movement and mental games. I think Joker’s gonna be the grind for a while now. First thing I’m gonna do is follow your guides and fumble with feeling him out through movement. Thanks!

What advice do you have for someone who just wants to be a mid level Joker for the foreseeable future? Is he still worth playing at mid level? Thanks!
@MajeFGC2 жыл бұрын
Well, I’ll give you the advice that I give to everyone else: Don’t look at your skill level and put yourself in a certain category when playing any game. Yes, it’s important to know your current level, but you should not tie your choices to what “level” you currently are or what you’re trying to achieve. If you love joker and want to keep playing him, then keep playing him; play what you love the most and what makes you have fun. If that’s joker, then keep at it. And for the mentally taxing bit, treat it like working out. Develop the mental stamina to play this character for extended periods of time. It’ll get easier and easier as time goes on. I’ve been playing him since day 1 and I’m at the point where I can do anything else after 8+ hours of grinding WiFi joker. It comes with time.

@MajeFGC2 жыл бұрын
Joker is a grind. Especially if you're playing him online lol. Well, if people are running from you, you need to watch them carefully and see HOW they're running from you. Most of the time, you can easily anti air jump happy players and use positional pressure on grounded players. Do not commit to your punish until they've committed to their option (like jump, roll, spotdodge, etc). Walking down and cornering runners is optimal and sometimes you just need to charge straight ahead and overshoot your approach. walking is much more consistent, but overshooting can be very useful if the opponent loves to actually dash away from you; especially if they're slower than you. If you have anymore questions, don't be afraid to shoot at me. Thank you for watching my video
@rinn52382 жыл бұрын
@@MajeFGC lol yeah joker definitely is a grind online and a pretty taxing one at that but im not gonna give up on him because i want to be the best in my state eventually. but anyways i never really thought of waiting for the opponent to fully commit to their option before punishing them! it feels so obvious but it never occurred to me while i was playing, haha. i never really thought of walking down people to corner them but after thinking about it a little i can definitely see it being super helpful! overshooting im somewhat familiar with but it's good to know when to use it! also i don't want to totally bombard you with questions but what's your opinion of gundashing in neutral? i labbed a couple of gundash setups and i use them in matches to keep my opponents on their toes but im also kinda worried that better players are going to punish it fairly easily when they see it coming. when is it best to use them, or is it best to not use them at all? thanks again for the video and replying to my comment!!
@MajeFGC2 жыл бұрын
@@rinn5238 No problem! And for gundashing in neutral; it's perfectly fine. I use it as a shock tactic since it's not really a big part in my neutral game specifically. It's borderline unreactable, so it's pretty good, although it does stale your other defensive options. The only way someone hits you for it is because they've adapted to your habits. Cannot be too predictable with it. treat it as a mixup tool.

@@MajeFGC ah i see, so it's like almost everything else in the game where you can't use it too much or it'll get hard punished if the opponent sees it coming, makes sense! it's a fair part of my neutral game since i like being a dirty showoff, lol. i'll try to use it a little less while also throwing it out when nothing else can get me out of a situation. but thanks a lot! i just have one more question (lol sorry); im trying to get into the offline scene a bit more but the timing for everything feels so off and awkward, how can i get used to the offline environment when it feels so alien to me? thanks for your help once again, i really learn a ton from your videos!
