More strings do not mean you should tune lower. It’s all about scale length. A 30” baritone scale 6 string can go lower than any mass produced 8 string with the common LTD/ibanez 26.5” or 27” scale. I don’t see why more companies aren’t making their 8 strings at least 28.5” or longer without having to get one custom made, or resort to multi scale.
