Watching this 5 years later and I still don't understand what happened. What does Ed mean by bad choices? Literally every single song of all of BT albums is a fucking masterpiece. The instrumentals, the vocals, the lyrics it's all perfectly, brutally beautiful and I can never get enough of it. It's been how many fucking years and I still listen to Black Tongue EVERY FUCKING DAY and it NEVER gets old. I know they are hard on themselves but seriously, your art is among the absolute peak in modern metal. I love you guys. I hope one day the legends will return.

This popped back into my recommended after nearly 6 years (where tf has the time gone?), and goddamn this album still hits just as hard as it did back then. IA has content more brutal. Doesnt get more brutal than ai. Brutality doesn't mean skill or enjoyability.
@MOOSE-qw4mx5 жыл бұрын
I agree with you. People try to compare bands all the time that are not even in the same genre. Both Black Tongue and IA are brutal, case in point. One's faster than the other, one has more damning lyrics...who cares? They are both amazing. Instead of comparing bands and trying to have the bigger dick with ones ideology of metal why don't we just support the bands for being who they are, what they are and how they sound. Support metal, because no one outside of us (fans) will support them.

I personally just love that no matter what negative came about, from your past - you guys took the time to explain the process to your true fans. What's even more admirable is that you came through all the negative and took it as a learning experience to make even better results in the end. You scream sincerity not only in lyrics - but in your music as a whole. You stick around for the right reasons and when you have the right reasons you will conquer the lovers along with the criticizers. They will learn from you whether they take the time to grow to apprietiate it or not. In the end nothing of that sort matters unless its paired with the individual passion that you bring to the result. That defeats all doubts. Xo

This all makes perfect sense. What you guys were all talking about, I could sense that in the The Unconquerable Dark, it just didn’t feel like it all fit together as good as it should have. Sometimes in life, it’s best to just put your hands up and realise you made some bad decisions, but take those in your stride and come out stronger than ever. It sounds like you fellas have come through to the other side, you’ve got new material, and I’m very much looking forward to hearing it. Although TUD felt like a bit of a disappointment for me, I’m a major St. Anger apologist (fuck the haters, it’s quality) so if there’s room in my heart for that album, I’m more than happy to extend you some support. I hope whatever shit you guys had to go through is all sorted, and just you let me know how I can give you my money when the time comes, because it’s as good as yours.

I know I'm a bit late, but guys this album was such an enjoyable piece of art! I found myself smiling during the whole listening session because I was telling to myself : these guys got it RIGHT. I know there is no good or bad taste, just opinions, but for this album, I think one cannot deny the melting pot of different metal genres that it is. This is the force of the album, not getting stuck in a narrow state of mind. Some times you were heavy as f*** and I was feeling "oh, maybe a bit a relief, something more grooving... please?" And then, boom! Groovy riff. The right timing, the right feeling, don't be stuck in pure senseless heaviness, that's what I was asking, and you exceeded my expectation. You guys understood that heaviness is not just about getting low tuned and blast beat everywhere, a riff can be heavy in contraste to another more groovy, a song can be heavy because of its atmosphere and so forth... I feel like you wanted to go in that direction (maybe I'm wrong...?) and I'm the end you got both sides of heaviness right... Bravo! Thank you guys, it's a huge step for extreme metal.
