As a person of color in America, whatever we do, we have to be exceptional to even be recognized as good. Even in the labor force. I'm a black woman that provides a service in predominantly white area. They accept mediocrity from my white associates. They tip them well and don't expect anything extra. I know the moment they see my picture they've already decided that their service is going to be poor. That's why I have to go above and beyond what my white counterparts have to do to get the tip, and the respect. Kamala Harris has been exceptional in her professional life! She has achieved goals that would take the majority of us a lifetime to even get close to. With that being said, that's not even good enough for them. And by them I mean the Republican party. It's sad, but I'm so happy to see so many rally around her! Let's Go Democrats!💙💙💙

A dude in Boise got PISSED at me when I said "thanks, chief" to him. I had no idea what was going on. I had to piece it together later. And no, he did not look remotely Native. But I chalked it up to being a Midwestern sensitivity and scratched "chief" off my list after that incident. I'm not trying to insult anybody. Lots of innocuous words get ruined when racists start using them. "Orient" was just a maritime navigational term once upon a time, and "oriental" just meant "Asian" until racists co-opted it as a slur. There are other kinds of linguistic generation gap pitfalls, too, aside from the words co-opted by bigotry. Like I had to stop referring to my friend as "my partner." I meant it in the old-school way, like my chum, my buddy, my pahtnah, you know. But people started getting the wrong idea at some point along the line.😂

Regarding the getting shit on by a bird skit, and it being good luck. Yea no way its good luck. Vidura Bandara Rajapaksa is from the island of Sri Lanka(formerly Ceylon) which like India, its closer neighbour (immediately above it) is in South Asia. I looked him up, because he's yet another unknown(to me) comedian, that I liked and would like to see more of.
