Chiang Kai Shek died while we were there, so there was forced mourning, but otherwise it was so safe living there as a teenager. Hey question did you get the kid comparing himself in height bit? Cause I feel like something went over my head... As long as the kid was measuring in whole digits it's possible for the other kid to be 1-2 centimeters taller then his kid despite being the same height in inches... Probably not two... I mean you'd round up on inches at that point and he'd be one inch taller.

Tommy Ryman! I wanted to play drums 🥁 & got stuck playing clarinet, too! Hated it. I was in 6th grade & it was the first time we could choose "elective" classes - which I chose Band so I could play drums! After the 1st 2 weeks I figured that, if the class was "elective", I could elect NOT TO GO anymore. I stayed in study hall instead. It wasn't until my parents got a call from the school asking why I was truant in only 5th hour for the last week! I found out that an "elective" wasn't elective any longer after you elected it! 🤣 So they stuck me in Choir, which I thoroughly enjoyed, & stayed very active in musicals, drama class, plays & advanced choirs through High School. 💞 68 years old & I still wish they would've let me play the drums, tho. 🙄
