You can close with Russ if he’s on ball and Murray spaces. I think CT is hesitant because he’s thinking the ball will be in Murray’s hands and Russ will be spacing. Peter’s idea works with Russ in for Christian if he’s handling the ball, Murray and MPJ space, AG hunts the baseline and Russ runs two man with Jokic. It would require a team identity switch but tbh Russ has been better in the two man than Murray this year. The concept intrigues me a lot.

“Westbrook the last month the 2nd best Nugget and it wasn’t close…I know MPJ has been awesome…Jamal is just a whole other level below.” 12/7/24 to 1/9/25 let’s compare Murray 22, 6, 4, 2.7 stocks, 2.6TPG on 46/43/94 Westbrook 14, 8, 6, 2.4 stocks, 3.4 TPG on 54/27/56 MPJ 19, 6, 2, 0.8 stocks, 1.6 TPG on 55/44/76 In the 4th during that time Jamal Murray 5th best in NBA in 4th PPG + APG + SPG + BPG (minimum 13 games which Jamal played) on 55/56/100 (65% TS%…was also +34) w/ great clutch stats including game winner down 1 vs Kings with 9 seconds left and another game tying shot with 9 seconds left to send game to OT. 12/13/24 to 1/1/25 (9 games): 24 PPG, 6.3 APG, 4 RBG, 2.8 stocks, 3.1 TPG on 47/43/93 with Nuggets 6-3 (55 win pace). On the WHOLE season Murray def behind both MPJ Westbrook bc he started bad, but that 13 game stretch (December 7-Jan 9) before knee soreness last night to say “Westbrook by far the best” and “Murray on a whole other level below” over “the last month” is objectively not true. Westbrook as expected has been GREAT value at 3.3mill, though as a starter I didn’t think he’d be THIS good at 36 (15, 8, 7, 2.4 stocks, only 3.3 TPG on 60% TS%…the efficiency especially, as his best TS% yr ever 55%). I say all of this as someone who was a big OKC Russ fan and someone who agrees he’s should start and be tied to Joker as he’s an elite center which he’s never played with (AD is a 4 and that Lakers roster was super old/hurt with Russ making 45-50 mill per yr vs 3 mill). PS I’ve been yellin for Murray to play 30-33 mpg all yr. He was very good last yr RS (14th in OBPM, 19th in VORP per game, & 19th in BPM with elite per 100 stats 33.3, 10.2, 6.5, 2.5 stocks & +9 on 48/43/85 splits) playing only 31 MPG! Malone playin him 38-39 mpg lately is🤬. Play Pickett more mins and/or RW Strawther a few more mins each!

I don't know why it's so hard for Nuggets fans to understand that Murray and Russ need to start together just as they have been doing and use the same stagger they are using now, with Murray going out first and coming back in to manage the reserve minutes. This is working for "the team" The non-Jokic minutes have been significantly better with Jamal Murray playing with reserves because there is a clear pecking order, with Murray being the clear #1 scoring option. Once Gordon returns this should get even better as now Murray and Gordon can go out together with CB and Watson coming in as super subs. Then Murray and Gordon come back in with Jordan so there is a primary scorer, and two defensive rebounders. It's up to the coach if he wants to keep both CB and Watson in this rotation or switch one out for Strawther, as neither CB or Watson are aggressive 3pt shot takers. Murray is fine.....he's played a little better than fans are giving him credit for. He's not playing at an all star level but with Russ playing this well, the team doesn't need Murray to be at all star level right now. However this team needs Murray, even this version of Murray, because of his ability to make big clutch shots! Not many guards have that skill set. In close games that skill set is very valuable. Neither Jokic, Gordon, MPJ, Russ, or CB make those types of jump shots, we need Murray! As a fan of Russ i want him to play with both Jokic and Murray because the Jokic/Murray duo is one of the best in the nba! It's up to Coach Malone.

@@superdopehiphop .....to me it was clear from the moment Jokic requested the organization pursue Russ. He wants both Murray and Russ on the floor with him. This is not a knock on CB, Watson, or Strawther, they're all playing at about the level they should be playing as young players. Jokic is not the type that is going to tell his head coach what to do but it's clear he enjoys the added play making, cutting, defense, and energy Russ provides. The Jokic, Gordon, MPJ, Murray, and Russ starting five has the potential to be the top starting five in the nba in terms of offensive rating. To get their net rating higher they need to improve their defensive effort but they can only do that with more minutes on the floor together. Then if we can run a second unit of Jordan, Gordon, Watson, CB or Strawther, and Murray, maybe we can actually start winning the non-Jokic minutes and become a dominant net margin team(+8 or higher) For me it's all about creating the strongest team we can with the current cast of characters. Same Gm, Same Head Coach, Same Roster... 12-4 when Russ starts 10-11 when he doesn't. To me it's pretty clear how we get to 52-55 wins

@@rainofkhandaq6678 Because he has been successful in big games and doesn't mind letting people know about it. He's very confident and arrogant. All the best players are. When i'm watching him play to me it looks like he's dealing with some sort of lower body pain but trying to play through it. He's also way out of condition. He's huffing and puffing in the damn first qtr. This tells me he is expending too much energy. This is something he just has to play his way out of. Hopefully by postseason time the conditioning is on point.
