In Mexico, they passed a law that junk food must be labeled with warnings such as "excess calories" and "excess sodium" to help combat obesity and unhealthy eating. They also made companies get rid of mascots in food to make it less fun looking for kids and discourage their consumption. Which was a bummer because we all knew and loved the mascots that have been around for decades. Bimbo, the bread company, began putting their mascot in all kinds of merch except their food. For a moment, there was talks of getting rid of Maruchan altogether.
