The Joma T.Ace Pro 2002 is a speed and durability focused tennis shoe with new performance tech in the upper as well as a Phylon midsole made of molded EVA pieces but will it hold up in the signature tennis shoe performance review featuring the Tennis Pro Doc playtest, serve test, infrared test, durability test, teardown and suicide test?
As a foot doctor I look at tennis shoes and tennis shoe technology a bit differently as I focus more on what foot types benefit from these shoes as well as the tennis shoe's functional attributes on the tennis court

You should look into Dominic Thiem's custom shoe. Uses CourtJam Bounce outsole and SoleCourt Boost upper.

Yup him and Muguruza play a pretty custom set up same with Tsitsipas although he has some different tweaks- I think I discuss that in the solematch bounce video and best shoes for under 100 bucks video but I could be wrong

@@FootDoctorZach do you know why they cancel the orders? This is interesting as I had the same issue. I ordered 2 times form their EU website and they canceled 2 orders each 4-5 days after I ordered. I was able to get the shoes only after 3rd time ordering it. They explained that shoes I ordered were out of stock, but they were shown as “in stock” all the time.

Excellent review. I was curious about these when I saw Carreno Busta playing in these and thinking those have to be decent shoes. Odd that their availability is limited, but good to know that this and the Diadora are great options too

Would love to try these but with Size 15 feet, Joma, Mizuno, Babolat, Prince and other shoes are not made in that size correct? Which is why I stick with Asics Speed Solution 2 the best shoe ever made for tennis and also Nikes.

Isn’t phylon nikes proprietary blend of eva foam that they use in basically every shoe cuz as far as I know they have eva blends called react, cushlon, zoom x, joyride, renew and phylon

It’s not exclusive to Nike as several companies use the Eva pellet tech in their mid soles but yes Nike uses it in some shoes but not every line up

TTS? I tried Joma Pro Rolands awhile back and they fit short. They were also incredibly minimalistic in the cushioning dept, which surprised me since I thought they were the flagship worn by most of Joma's pros. I wonder if this shoe has more cushion? How would you compare cushion or any further thoughts compared to your beloved Gel Res 8 and SoleCourts? I'm in Europe so you've piqued my interest in trying a clay pair.

I’ve actually soured on the gel res 8 alittle bit due to the constant slippage but to answer your question I found the length true and the forefoot cushioning and arch cushioning especially were really good with these, better than most I’ve tried due to the low drop , the rolands seem to be the lesser built model as well as some others- these definitely don’t look like maximal midsoles but they did really surprise me

@@FootDoctorZach Nice, so for someone with past knee and occasional back spasm issues this shoe would be up there in safety with the GR8 and Solecourts? As a wider-footer with high arch the slippage issue on GR8 worries me, sounds like these may be a better fit.

I’d say solecourts over these for knee issues just because better lateral stability but yeah I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend these to my patients with those issues

I’m with you on the mirage speed and court ff2 but I liked the Joma infinitely better than the wave exceed 3,4, solution speed and, for my foot, I liked it more than GR8 but if you don’t have a high arch I can see the GR8 being a level up from the ace pro

I'm wondering if you ever played tennis in a pair of racquetball shoes? Very similar, I'm kind of partial to the gum bottom. I had a pair of python racquetball shoes. Wore them out fast on the hard tennis courts, but you just cut them open anyway 😃😅
