Only when played like this (aka by great musicians with an excellent ear). Otherwise it can be incredibly inconsistent. However, I would like to own one someday as I like to collect instruments (and play them too, not just look at them on a wall).

​@@evanmisejka4062thank you. This horn, the ophicleide, was initially called the "Awful-Clyde" by my friend when I first had it. It's definitely not easy to play, but easier than the serpent, that's for sure!

There is no tuba part in any Verdi operas.

@@svenlarsson1584 thanks. I know that. It's usually "cimbasso", which is just a shortened version of "corno in basso". In Verdi's time this was most likely an upright serpent, that is... Until he had the contrabass valved trombone. He abhorred the tuba. I don't, but still, I get you.
