To address the practice round/dodo conversation at 12:29 According to google, in the bird watching community, the term "bogey bird" is one that you can't seem to find, or one that continues to elude you. So calling holes a golfer plays over par "bogeys" is like saying it's a "bird"ie that they just missed or can't quite get ahold of. Or we could just call em "dodos" instead. Interesting stuff.

honestly, when rick gave gannon his putter i was like, oh well his birdie streak is done, then it was. interesting. he seemed locked in as you said, then he was all casual all of a sudden when he was giving the putter back. thats when i thought an element would lead to him not getting a birdie on the next. so yea. that was my thought on this. i love rick and wish dude the best. mad respect.

I had the same thougt concerning the double dodos and such. But instead of extinct birds, maybe just go for smaller and smaller flying animals. Size seems to be the determining parameter from which the nature of the play is depicted. So maybe a birdie is like a blackbird sized animal, then the bogey could be a sparrow, a double bogey could be a hummingbird, a triple bogey could be a moth perhaps and so on... 😂it's not like it matters for the gameplay anyways, it's just a way to paint what is happening in the game 😋

It's tough to translate this from Finnish to English but I'll try. We have woodpeckers, "tikka" in Finnish, on the courses, so when we hear them knocking on wood we call them "bögitikka" which translates to something like "bogeypecker". Gotta hate hearing those when it's my turn to drive. 😅

Best idea you’ve two have ever had! (The name for bogey!) It would be the first time since the old school “frisbee family” that modern disc golf embraced some difference/originality, instead of clinging to every single aspect of “traditional golf” acting like “traditional golf” wasn’t disc golf’s predecessor! What do you mean traditional golf is thousands of years older?! Maybe just maybe, this step in the right direction, would encourage our own path…… instead of trying to recreate another PGA TOUR with discs! Because if I’m not mistaken the DGPT NETWORK coverage sure has developed into a familiar broadcast…cough…(CBS/PGA tour coverage much)which (imo as always) is a step in wrong direction! Agree disagree IDGAF, disc golf (as a whole) acts like we developed our game and didn’t borrow every single major aspect from traditional golf!
