Hey Jerm, you can see where Eagle's FH power comes from in slow motion. Watch how far ahead of his wrist Eagle is able to get his elbow. It is insane. It's like his shoulder is about to dislocate. When he stops the elbow and smashes the shoulder, the acceleration as a result of that massive separation between wrist and elbow is absolutely huge. Of course, the timing of the wrist smash is also critical, and both have to happen perfectly for that smooth, rapid and continuous acceleration of the disc. If you want more FH power, work on the timing of both smashes, and yoga the hell out of that shoulder to add rearwards flexibility.

Great play, great coverage--love me some big sexy talky! But just want to put this out there, since it's a common misconception in the disc golf world: Big Jerm commented on Hole 5 that he wasn't sure where Eagle's power comes from since he can "only do 10 pushups." Just to be clear: a player's ability to huck the hell out of a disc has nothing at all to do with the number of pushups they can perform. In fact, it has very little to do with strength (and # of pushups is a strength-endurance measure). The disc is a very light implement, and requires very little strength to move, even at high speeds. But it's that speed (arm speed) that generates distance. Eagle could do 1 pushup and still throw that far, so long as he can still move a disc at 78 mph. If It's likely that the longest-distance throwers will more and more be the long-limbed lanky guys, because they have a longer distance to accelerate the disc (from arm length) and less mass to work against while accelerating (with skinny arms).
