I saw them the first night at the state theater. Jon made 2 quick mistakes but and recovered immediately. Hey, the guy is 79. I hope I can talk and walk at his age. Loved the show! So glad he found a band that can recreate this legendary music. God Bless that man. Voice still sounds GREAT! It isn't YES without that voice! Agreed that the originals were genius's but Wakeman just retired, Squire and White are gone. Steve Howe will never play with Jon again. I enjoyed the show!

Jon may have lost a step mentally (at least that's the impression I get from his tendency to flub lyrics on recent tours, which I don't recall him doing years ago). But his voice sounds nearly as strong in 2024 as it did when this song was released in 1971!

Isn't it ironic that we have all these people saying that Yes 2024 are just a tribute band and not the real Yes, and now we do have a tribute band and people are hailing them as the 'real' Yes. Go figure... (Can't wait to see them live though !)

It sorta says what people say is the 'sound' of yes - the singer, not the band!
@hinduismwithpremananddasbhagat3 ай бұрын
But, really, Jon is the only original member out there, so technically one could say this is more Yes than the band featuring the guitarist from the 3rd album on, and some later day musicians (I say this out of one side of my mouth, as I actually like the post-Rabin albums and Drama)

@hinduismwithpremananddasbhagat3 ай бұрын
Its not Yes music? If you look at Jon's career he's been playing every style in the world, more often than not its not very Yes sounding. The first solo album I heard from him was Deseo, and the fact it wasn't Yes was so cool.
