I remember perfectly, It was on the Stephen Colbert Show, a bit in which Stephen goes to New Orleans to meet Jon and his family. In one scene they are walking down the street, Jon has his Melodica, a homeless man comes along, Jons face lights up and starts playing a soulful tune, the homeless man is dirty and wearing a torn down dress but he has a tamborin in his hand, they jam together. For a moment that burn-out guy is no longer a mental health victim or a lifetime of bad decisions, he is a human being. I realized then the true power of music. Thank you Jon. Stay human!

God, I love this man's energy. Hearing a bit more from him with Stephen Colbert since quarantine, I came to deeply appreciate his warmth and wisdom. And obviously I knew he was extremely talented. But oh my, I did not expect to enjoy his music quite as much as I did. As masterful as he is with jazz, this was a wonderful surprise. Filled to the brim with that marvelous, effervescent, positive energy that helped me get through rough patches of quarantine. I may be fan-girling a little bit. I'll stop now. The Jitterbug: an African American dance is on full display in this music video. My grandmother told me how she attended parties as a young girl and jitterbugged. Research Harlem Renaissance and breathtaking performers like The Nicholas Brothers (as one classic example) and you will see the greatness of African American dance❤️ This music video is a lovely tribute and I enjoyed watching
