As a Bon Jovi and Jon Bon Jovi fan since 1984, I teared up during this honest and touching interview. Jon has been invincible during the majority of his career. To hear him acknowledge a serious health issue that could have ended his stellar career was heartbreaking, but he has the courage to tell the truth and share his struggle. And he refuses to short-change fans by lip-syncing! I’ve experienced a chronic illness in the past two years and felt like giving up, but Jon has encouraged me to “never give up.” He is an amazing, genuine, from- the-heart human being, and that is why I love him and have been a dedicated fan for 40 years. #BonJovi40 #BonJoviForever

I got married in 1988 and Bon Jovi has literally written the soundtrack to my life with my wife. About 4 years ago I sat down and picked song after song after song from Bon Jovi that has told the most important things that have happened in my life. Starting with Living on a prayer when I got my wife pregnant and I was but 17 years old. I can name event after event after event in my life, both happy, sad, and eventful over my 35 years with my wife, my teaching career, my coaching career and Bon Jovi has a song that points right to that event. Im not joking, I had probably 30 songs that described my life. It was painful for me to see him struggle on stage. I LOVE this man. Wanted Dead or Alive is in my top 5 songs ever and is my go to Karaoke song. I am praying he is well enough to keep going. But if he isnt, he should rest easy knowing that hes seen a million faces, and he rocked them all. Love you JBJ.

@chrisk920 What is "bubble gum rock".. seriously & genuinely!? It makes no sense. Bon Jovi was a rock n roll band. Simple & straight. Millions of ppl obviously loved them & went to their sold out shows. So what's Guns n Rose's then!? Bc they only had harder lyrics & more guitar riffs..Slash is the best in that genre/time/recognizable riffs. But it was Jon that wrote most of the songs & Sambora mainly the guitar & lyrics with Jon on only some of their songs. I was lucky enough to meet them at their prime..60K sold out stadiums. I spent time with both Jon , Richie & though I was way too young to appreciate how lucky I was, I knew how special it was too. I knew his long time body guard & was good friends with his brother who was a VIP body guard in Australia at thar time that I was living there for modeling. Yeah I was too young but millions live this band & they deserve credit as America's all time greats in the same vein as Springsteen. Appreciate what they were for who they were. Ok. I have been listening to this band forever. The music help me through a horrible time in my life. I watched documentary and when richie said that he felt like he was being replaced. He did not say anything to anyone. He just left like a child. He was a child about this. That made heart hurt for Jon and the rest of the guys in the band. Also I knew before anyone else that Jon was having health issues. And that broke my heart. I hope he gets feeling better very soon.

I'm jealous. I was almost lucky enough to see them on that tour. My best friend and I thought we had won the lottery when we scored tickets to their concert -- convinced it was going to be one of the best times in our entire lives. Unfortunately, our car broke down on the way to St. Louis (from Springfield, IL) and we missed it. Sadder still, we never got another opportunity to see them -- life just kinda got in the way -- but we've been "rocking out" to them all these years.

John never needs to explain anything. He’s paid his dos and never disappoints anyone. At 54 I seen just about every big 80’s band out there and i can say Bon Jovi was and is high above the rest and in a class of their own. God bless and prayers.

I grew through the 80s as a young adult with Bon Jovi and others. My birth mom lives in the same neighborhood as Jon grew up in. When I first met her when I was 27 in 1991 she drove me by the house he lived in with his folks. I grew up in PA. Some days I think of moving back home. So I get the emphesis on home town. Living in NC for the longest though....my birth mom still lives in Sayreville. Can't wait to watch the doc!
