Jon Danzig's short documentary celebrates the London roots of Charlie Chaplin, the world's best loved comic. Broadcast internationally by over 60 TV stations for 'UK Today'.
Said Jon Danzig, "The British government used to produce a regular TV magazine programme to promote life and events in the United Kingdom. It was called 'UK Today' and broadcast across the world. I was privileged to be commissioned to write and direct the first story for the first 'UK Today', celebrating the birth of Charlie Chaplin in London 100 years ago.
"Later, when I was Chairman of the Producers and Directors Division of BECTU, the film makers union, I arranged a private premiere showing of Sir Richard Attenborough's biographical movie, "Chaplin". Hundreds of directors and producers attended. After the viewing, I interviewed Sir Richard on stage and fielded questions from the audience about his life as a director."
