Can't say I have ever seen Ford that much at ease in a "interview". He must have a genuine affection for Jon Favreau - nice to see a more real Harrison Ford.

Good point, he does seem very comfortable.

I think because he's talking with someone he's worked with and respects, and he's not in front of a live studio audience. He also appears in a relatively quiet, comfortable place -- possibly his home, perhaps?

What was also so great about the "I know" line was that it closed the smaller arc that had been at play throughout the film: Han trying to get Leia to admit her feelings for him and she just wouldn't, until that last moment before he was frozen. That line was like, "Finally!"

The Solo line is a classic example of when Lucas was whiling or begrudgingly acceptable of collaboration and criticism. Lucas is truly a creative force but he does require others to channel and refine his ideas. I feel by the late 90's he was surrounded by Yes men.
@rebecamugwort8626 жыл бұрын
Cybopath 0.0 I can see that. Personally I did enjoy the prequels, but they could have sooo much better with just a tad of conservative criticism. Think of how much better they Would have been had the actors written the dialogue.
@Lowlandlord5 жыл бұрын
A lot of the Star Wars lore Lucas had nothing to do with. AEG, a company that made pen and paper RPGs, did more to flesh out the different alien races, planets and nitty gritty elements than Lucas ever did. Most of the Old Republic stuff was fleshed out by Dark Horse comics and novels. Most of that stuff goes back to the '80s, by the '90s Lucas had little to do with ongoing Star Wars properties, then he did the re-releases and then the prequels. Fair to say that if the RPGs, comics, games and novels (the novels being the most successful and popular, many were New York Times Best Sellers) were not so successful and did not add so much then he may have not decided to re-release the movies in the '90s and have a new generation of fans.
@KnightLord775 жыл бұрын
Well said, Cybopath 0.0!! I've said something very similar to my family about Lucas not being open to criticism in the prequels was one of their major downfalls. Even though I enjoyed *some* aspects of them, imagine how good they could've been!!

Imagine the Star Wars sequels with Favreau in the chair and at the writing desk. I'm sure many of us do that. Han Solo would be entirely different, but probably dead anyway. We could at least bank on the idea that all of them in the Falcon would've ended up together again to save the galaxy. Just that one shot that we were robbed of.

I was just going to ask, "How is it that Harrison seems so comfortable?" Generally he's kinda wound and you really aren't sure if he's going to say something funny or something that might throw you. If i had to take a scientific guess. I would say, at some point, these two guys went drinking together and that's why they're so comfortable. Call it a hunch.
@47imagine5 жыл бұрын
I'd say two reasons: 1) they just finished working on a movie together and know each other well and 2) there's no studio audience and pressure to "please the crowd." This could be filmed in Harrison's house, for all we know.
