Any other coach would have been fired based on his W-L record alone before the email scandal came out. He’s a glorified Matt Nagy. QB coach who worked closely with HOF QB’s who lucked into a hall of fame defense. Once he couldn’t lean on a great defense he proved to be what he is. A one trick pony who has never produced a great offense or developed a QB as a head coach. His coaching in Vegas from day 1 was antiquated and the game passed him by years ago.

Gruden is one of the most charismatic men in pro football. He has such a presence on the sideline. It takes great leadership to keep your guys playing hard with a 4-11 record. He may be a “ra ra” coach on game day, but what separates him is his knowledge of the game, and his ability to adapt to the game in 2018. He’s a brilliant strategist on both sides of the ball. His game plans, especially the last few games have been excellent in setting up his players for success. If the Raiders can find a good GM, they will have a playoff caliber roster within a few years
