It sounds like snuggle or cuddle is the closest term, snuggle could be a hug, or sitting on your grandma’s knee or spooning with your partner. Or just snuggle in a blanket, or bed, or rug, snug as a bug. It doesn’t mean just a safe feeling in general (“cozy” does though, and can also describe a place or cuddle), but snuggle can represent being in any safe & warm place (often implying another’s arms, but definitely not always).

Klingon?! Hardly....Y and W are vowels. The Y is used as a "The" when used singular. And used a i (as in the word "it" when in a sentence or word. It is also used and pronounced as an i)....W is used as a U and the oo sound. DD is Th....once you realise this. It becomes pretty simple. The only diffucult pronouncition in Welsh is the Ll sound. @mickcollins19212 жыл бұрын
@@DerpASherpa117 No. It is a long story, but many years ago a bunch of new car factories were built in the southern saint louis county area (with significant tax breaks) and the car makers promised lots of jobs. The car makers then closed some plants in Indiana (mostly southern if I am not mistaken, where many residents have Kentucky roots) and offered them jobs at the new Saint Louis plants. So, instead of jobs, Saint Louis area residents got a bunch of working class neighbors, many of whom with southern cultural roots. They moved into an area that was largely a blend of rural and trailer parks and it soon turned into "those filthy Hoosiers came here and took our jobs." It essentially means sort of a blend of hillbilly and white trash. And it is now used everywhere in the city, not just in the southern STLCO region. Imagine my reaction when I relocated to Indiana and saw businesses with "Hoosier" in the title. It was like "White Trash ______" and it felt weird to see used in any manner other than an ironic one. So that's the shortish version of the longer story of why STL is the ONLY place in the world where Hoosier is a bad word equivalent to "white trash."

Welsh is such an interesting language. It's hilarious to see words that, in English, would be considered to have no vowels, i..e using the 'w' as the vowel. I think it's a lovely language to hear even if it sounds alien to someone who is used to English.

The friggin' riverboats, man. Gambling in Missouri is only legal if it's on a river.... so the casinos here are all built over the river, but aren't actual real boats that move on the river. It's a loophole that, IMHO, is kinda dumb, 'cause those are the first buildings to get overrun during flooding. In fact, that was happening the other day in Tulsa, OK, on the Arkansas River - the casino's parking lot got covered in water.
@superschmolz5 жыл бұрын
The phrase of the mid-90s was boat-in-a-moat.
@katlinp81915 жыл бұрын
You can pretty much find a casino within 20 minutes of wherever you are in OK. I'll never understand why someone would put a resort on the Arkansas River because, well, it's disgusting and generally sandbars most of the year. The flooding here is truly horrific and a lot worse than is being said on the news, so good vibes/thoughts/prayers would be appreciated by all!
@jackson51165 жыл бұрын
Illinois started that crap with the Casino Queen, then Missouri was like now we've got to do it too! Then, Illinois got rid of the boat itself in favor of an actual building! They ruined the Admiral when the President became its primary focus. The Admiral was a luxurious cruise liner, it should have stayed that way!
@superschmolz5 жыл бұрын
@@jackson5116 That's how I remember it, too. More than a few members of my family, especially my grandma were pretty upset by what happened with the Admiral. I don't know how much time if any that she spent on the boat, but I think it was important to her as a landmark of her childhood. Her dad was a police officer in the '30s and' 40s, and the river front was part of his 'beat' that he walked.
@superschmolz5 жыл бұрын
@@katlinp8191 Are you in Tulsa? I heard what the governor said apparently in response to the flooding there, 'Let's just pray that the rain stops.' I'm sorry, but that's not a solution for 70 year old levees that are starting to leak. I went to OSU for undergrad, the pictures and videos of flooded streets in Stillwater are unreal.
