@Vikn012 жыл бұрын
Lol I didn't laugh or find it funny when I watched it initially but seeing it now with the filter of Jon being a Michael Scott style character is hilarious. That episode's big moment's gotta be something with Jon somehow punching or fighting one of the children. Maybe he'd segue the anti-bullying speech into a "let's fight bullying". Then getting himself all hyped up, he asks the kids if there are any bullies in their school, several kids point out some skull t-shirt little fat kid as bullying them. Somehow it escalates to Jon, with his shirt off, squaring off and fighting the kid. Maybe the local news walks in to film a feel good story about the speech and, to their shock, finds Jon in that situation.

All his personal issues aside,he is by far the most powerful fighter to ever compete in the world. And just now,with his new physique he is becoming scarier then ever. The fact they put him near small children and made him talk to them seems inteligent and calculated. A man feels that special kind of responsibility when he is surrounded by children. I wish all the best to Jon , i hope he resolved his issues and i'd like to see him back in the Octagon asap. Best regards.

Then went on to rattle off multiple ex-champions for his first handful of defenses. I could go on. Anyone that doesn't think Jones is greatest is grasping at straws. I may not like him, but I can't argue he isn't the best. He is the best. The only one that has a chance to dethrone him is Holm, now. But she'll have to stay undefeated for a long long time.

@ZPSBestProfileName9 жыл бұрын
Shapeshifter The things that have gotten him into trouble have had nothing to do with peer pressure. Cocaine, weed, alleged infidelity, etc have not been the reasons why he has gotten into trouble. He's been in trouble due to a DUI (almost everyone drinks) and the incident earlier this year. Both were not due to peer pressure. On the other hand, I can totally see someone being more prone to taking drugs if they're being thrown them all of the time, which, if you're at a party and everyone is trying to impress you or get your attention, is going to happen. This whole "If you have your mind set on not doing them" logic is weak. For example, I don't have my mind set on having a glass of coke in the morning and might even set my mind not to, but if every morning someone puts it in my hand, every now and then I'll think, "fuck it, it won't kill me", and take a swig.

TONYLOUIS105, BOXING, FITNESS, HEALTH, DIET & MEDITATION Actions speak louder than words, we'll find out with time. My guess now is that he really isn't changed because people who really do change go to meetings even after they dont need them because they dont want to fk up again. Jones is clearly a different breed though, he might not need that like most people do (I only know because I've been through it myself, crashed into someone drunk last year thankfull they're ok.) Talk is talk, just like in pre-fights it means nothing, it's all about the preperation. But just like a fight you wouldn't expect to win without the training. He doesn't mention anything to the fact that he's still training his mind in being sober and a better person, he's just somehow already in that mindset. And again, he might not need "training". All I'm saying is that his actions to ME personally, dont say he's going to turn everything around (just be more careful about it) and until he fks up again, I'll be rooting for him, supporting him and on his side. If I was a betting man I would bet against him but I have faith.

***** Name who he didn't fight. He fought them all. Oscar, Mosley, Zab, Canelo, Cotto, and topped it off with Manny. Yeah he fought Berto for his last fight, but thats common. He no longer had ambition to be the champion, he only wanted to tie Marciano's record. Berto isn't a bum either, but not on his level.

Great interview. I love Jon and I was severely disappointed in his actions on the day of his car accident, but it's in the past and I truly hope that he has learned from the experience. I look forward to seeing him back in the Octagon and hopefully regaining his title. He's the greatest fighter that I've ever seen and I hope that he bounces back from this and becomes not only as a better athlete, but a better man. Welcome back, Jon! Love ya, buddy.

I just watched this again: 1) The editing, in the beginning when he's talking to the kids, makes him seem like he's skirting the issue. It'd be nice to see how he really laid all the bad stuff out in front them. 2) His reconstruction of the night prior to the accident seems stunted and rehearsed (he stops dead in his tracks when getting into it). 3) He's the most like-able/ernest/honest version of Jon Jones i've seen since he's won the title. 4) I still don't fully believe he's 100% humbled and/or sober and I REALLY hope he proves me wrong.

First of all, I'm no the biggest Jon Jones fan but fuck Dana White and the UFC for not telling him about Vitor Roid Belfort before the fight. And honestly I don't blame him one bit for not fighting on 8 days notice either....especially how they supposedly knew Hendo was hurt weeks earlier but to give Chael the best chance possible. I'm kinda glad it blew up in their faces and they had to cancel the event. Dana HAS held a grudge against him since then.

Jon Jones is a great fighter but seriously he needs to move on from 205. He is always fighting guys over 10cm shorter than him (lets not talk about the reach advantage). On fight day he weighs way more than his opponents, so in reality this "skinny bones guy" is actually a big guy fighting small men. If he wants to be the GOAT he needs to move to 225 bracket.

Whats wrong with saying he is a "marihuana addict"? Arent you addicted to something from the moment you NEED it and feel like you cant live with it? Why addiction has to be only about hard drugs? Someone please explain me.
@rahowhero9 жыл бұрын
no an addiction has physical withdrawal symptoms, severe ones. habits (like weed) do not, they have mental withdrawal symptoms. some drugs are addictive and habitual, like cigarettes. both addiction and habits release endorphins into brain and are similar in effect, but arent the same thing, many habits have no consumption element at all, and are much harder to quit than addictive substances, for eg ocd. so they are related, overlap and have similar effects, but the brain process is very different in regards to process and quitting.
@MAKEUPOVERBROS9 жыл бұрын
rahowhero Oh, so its more about a physical effect? i thought it was straight mental, the feeling of addiction and wanting it over and over again.

+MAKEUPOVERBROS Was reading a paper about the affect of cannabanoid antagonists (basically reverses the effects of marijuana on the receptors applicable) and it shows that there are weed withdrawal (pretty horrible ones, akin to heroin) symptoms but due to the chemicals in cannabis being fat soluble they sit in your fat cells and release slowly averting these affects. Pretty awesome natural anti physical withdrawal mechanism.

Here's a quick breakdown of the first 5 1/2 min of this video. @0:24 JBJ has his arms akimbo as he says his name - that's the Superman stance. He's basically telling the kids, look, you're all in the presence of greatness. 0:29 to 0:36 - JBJ goes into detail when he tells the crowd his name. He says his name twice. He says his full name Jonathan, then he says, JBJ. When someone doesn't normally go by their full name and they give their full name, they are creating distance. JBJ was distancing himself from the group. And he is also making sure that they know who he by punctuating it with, "I'm a certified badass" and "I beat people up for a living and I love it". - Two things are going on here. One, he is offended that not that many raised their hand when asked, how many of you know who I am?" - two, He is trying to establish his dominance (over a group of kids). @1:07 the camera pans back to JBJ as he's talking about goals. @1:11 he mentions, "studying as best as I can" and says it with a sneer on his face. People only sneer when they don't like someone or something or they've smelled something bad. Sneering is a sign of disdain. From 1:12 to 2:48 JBJ references his fighting skills again. This time classifying them as "awesome"(2:48). @2:34 JBJ brings up Daniel Cormier's name and does a side glance, then sneers, and does a head tilt, as if to say, that guy bugs me. He is beneath me - no secret about this. @2:45 JBJ uses genital framing. He hooks his thumbs into his waistband and let's his hands hang framing his genitals - this is a display of dominance. He's basically saying, look, I'm better than you kids. @2:48 JBJ is talking about disliking bullies, but he brings his hand up with his fingers pointed to himself and references his "awesome" fighting skills - he's basically telling the kids that he is a bully and will beat them up. - fingers still pointing to himself. @3:11 as JBJ says, please don't pull a JBJ, he arches his eyebrows - the arching of the eyebrows are associated with pleasure. He doesn't seem to have too much regret with what he did. Could be a bit of duping delight associated with that statement, I could be wrong. Not too sure about this one. @4:49 when the segment is closing out and everyone is saying, No more bullies, JBJ is the only one pointing his fingers - finger pointing is universally recognized as rude behavior. He does a double finger point. This could mean he was irritated at being there. @5:36 JBJ says to Ariel Helwani, "I've learned so much" as he shakes his head "no" to the statement he just made. That's all the time I had for this. I'll finish this breakdown at a later date.

@kcwliew9 жыл бұрын
Silly how?
@kcwliew9 жыл бұрын
Oh well I guess it depends on where you come from - I've done some form of martial arts since I was 18 from Judo to Muay Thai training so Tyson isn't nearly as scary to me as someone like Jon Jones... I mean one of the first things I'd do in any fight is give someone a decent leg kick - if they're still standing or they check it then I'd be like - ohhhkay - we got ourselves a fight here. I'm 6ft 1in and 220 lbs - not sure but I think I'm taller than Tyson was too.
@kcwliew9 жыл бұрын
+Jesty Hughes Oh I agree! And hey, the first thing I'd need to do is get over the psychological intimidation of Tyson - but I was just thinking in terms of skill sets here. No doubt he'd ruin my ass - your boy Tyson was VERY fast, had amazing head movement etc... but I wouldn't feel as scared because I'd feel like I had SOME options - kicks, ground work etc... but with JBJ... I don't know what I'd do, I honestly don't. If I threw a kick he'd catch it and take me down - and then his nasty elbows... sheesh. Again - this is not me saying I'd beat Tyson in his prime LOL - just that no matter what boxer it happened to be, I'd be less afraid of a top tier boxer than I would be of a top tier MMA artist - and in this case I really think JBJ ain't going to be beaten by anyone in any division so it could be said that he's THE best MMA artist alive.
@kcwliew9 жыл бұрын
+Jesty Hughes Oh and yes - I agree that if MMA had been around during Tyson's day, he would have absolutely dominated. He had that perfect combination of speed, strength, intelligence and aggression.

I'm putting this in my Inspiration "Favorites" playlist. Awesome job Ariel on being an excellent interviewer. I'm very much a believer that these words sound like change. I recently had a devastating DUI in 2014 St Patrick's day. I have since that day quit drinking and smoking to better myself, and not endanger my future. Jon is going through what I experienced, and as well quickly recovering from bad habits. Although I am an advocate for responsible drinking and marijuana usage (decriminalization etc), I choose to put it all down. For some personalities are prone to abusing recreational substances. We know what is going to happen when Jon returns to the octagon in 2016. Finally, I am advocating whole heartedly, that Jones has changed for the better. Eating and Living healthy was much simpler than I thought. I have no doubt our accidents had a huge influence on starting a new life. The troublesome friends/habits are the first things to go, then you're still able to go anywhere and have fun without the weight of the law on your back.
@lordofthebeltsthereturnoft11279 жыл бұрын
Jon Jones is actually a more decent and intelligent person than I realized. Some of the questions Ariel asked were totally useless and stupid also. Jon Jones wasn't telling the kids not to be like him as far as his success, he was telling them not to be like him as far as making a decision that can squander all your hard work (which Jones has made a few), as you get used to how good things are you stop appreciating them and may make a bad decision and then only afterwards realize how much you squandered in retrospect.
