@@bonboaa5319 Mike objectively isn't on the same level grapplingwise, Jon is an insanely talented wrestler who has outwrestled OLYMPIANS before, and he's one of the most complete MMA fighters in the history of the sport because he tends to do everything fairly well and simply switches up when he needs to. MJW probably has much more experience striking, and while he has some BJJ training and what not, it's very different to competitive wrestling training. So when they were bouncing about on their feet, yeah, Jo probably got tagged a few times, but that simply wouldn't happen if they were sparring MMA style lol. Jon has never stood up with an elite striker when he's on a mission to destroy them, he's always set them up in the clinch, tripped them up, then obliterated them on the floor, if he hasn't just taken them down off the bat. Jon is also much younger than MJW, and all the TRT in the world won't help there (because Michael is in his 50s, he's definitely on some shit to keep in that kind of shape, which is absolutely fine because it's his livelihood and his choice).

@@calebbryant8550 The internet and martial arts community is full of people that express the same belief, and yes, I would tell him to his face respectfully as I'm not a jerk or antagonistic but I'd gladly tell him that I've studied for many years as well, and have fought, and am very familiar with how VASTLY different it is to have strong form versus being able to actually read an opponent's setups and attacks and react correctly in ways that don't lead to being overwhelmed from a great combination that switches to a takedown into various forms of chaos from there while also trying to form your own attack that doesn't leave you exposed while also trying to avoid the other guy programming you like Lyoto Machido does so well, and that no....I don't think you have the skills developed to be a top tier fighter as the ONLY way to develops those skills is by thousands of hours literally of sparring and testing the sparring lessons with actual fighting as fighting involves actual impacts and pain on a level that exceeds sparring and you have to be able to fight from pain and think clearly, which....is why most MMA figures are highly juiced up on pain killers which is why some can take such devastating elbows and leg kicks or breaks and not start wincing and screaming or rolling around. Mature people can handle a comment about them that expresses doubt or disbelief that they're so great at something....and the mature person can handle that situation well, as it's a form of emotional control which is a key element of being an effective fighter...NO ONE is a better fighter when they've lost control of themselves.....so any petty response or threat or challenge is a sure sign, like your comment to me, that they are utterly clueless about actual fighting and haven't even developed one of the most basic skill necessities for being a tough opponent or winning the actual fight. And in the end....it's just a fight....it's not loving someone or providing for someone.....it's just getting your own way for most people....survival fighting is a whole different thing, but is deeply connected to being a skilled fighter as well, which is vastly different than just having great form but no actual timing or ability set someone up and dynamically react as they react better in a way that sets YOU up. It's very complex at times, and very simple in others, but if you look at champions....none of them are the guys with the prettiest form....they're the ones that know how to fight.

@@MashuSlyferiux Not true...Bruce Lee did take challenge matches if you talk to people that knew him. No one can learn grappling to an elite level without many many years of studying grappling and what is grappling?....constant fighting in actual grappling training...kicking air is not the same as having the right timing for kicking the legs of someone rushing you, missing, and then getting pummeled into the ground like Fedor does so often....the attack is a feint to simply rush you with and run into you with his over two hundred pounds since you can't strike up close, you fall over, and THEN he goes to work with Sambo skills...and that's my point...if you're not fighting ...you won't know what to do with the thousands of different strategies and setups and attacks that an actual opponent with come at you with in full bore effort to overwhelm you. You can drive a race car on Xbox, but it's vastly different when the real car has weight and impacts into the wall and other cars that you have to react to to keep your balance and keep from flipping the car...AND win..... there's no comparison to pretty kicks and effective fighting.

If you knew anything about martial arts you’d know that Michael Jai White is a legit martial artist. For those who’ve studied disciplines and lived the lifestyle know that jumping in a cage isn’t what makes you a martial artist. The guy has made millions of dollars and was able to keep his brain cells. Obviously Jones kills him in a real fight but let’s say they were point fight sparring it’s very possible Jai White landed a lot of good stuff because he has done karate. Another thing you must consider is when you’re just sparring and not going 100mph will several grappling exchanges that also plays into White’s favor cuz when you’re only performing one discipline it’s a load of stress off the brain and it’s something he’s done routinely throughout life. Prize fighting doesn’t make you a martial artist, being a student is what makes you a martial artist and always a student

People often are guilty of comparing Martial Artists with MMA tournaments Fighters. Which is easy to do, because you think: well both are Martial Artist. True, but a no-holds-barred sparring match between both fighters (which is more like street fighting--without full power) is often decisive. And if, full power strikes were used instead, could prove to be fatal--meaning: no rematch. That was the reason Bruce Lee didn't gravitate toward Tournaments Combat Sport. For Lee, True Fighting wasn't a Sport, but was an "Art of Survival" for a life and death duel--not the fighter who racked up the most points with certain moves outlawed (because of their lethal devasation). Street fighting isn't MMA fighting: and conversely: MMA fighting isn't true street fighting. The paradox is: both utilizes forms of Martial arts, yet they are on DIFFERENT SPECIFIC LEVELS of the Art. One is for pure survival: whereas, the other is for Sport and entertainment--not the same level.
