Jon Lord was a simply great musician, it would be interesting if we could see him play any of the Mark 8-9 songs, particularly The Surprising. In this performance you can see hints of Vivaldi and Beethoven, and Bach. One of Jon Lord's works that stands out is his album Windows, a performance so well fusing modernity and classicality to a perfect blend without seeming too modern. Jon Lord, you will be missed, hope your having fun up there playing music for god.

I never understand why some people in the audience whistle and scream instead of just listening. Great performance!
@Daniel230837 жыл бұрын
I'm 6 months late, but here's what I think: it's euphoria, you must have seen, for example, some jazz players shout out "whooo!" while they play - that's because they got in the state of euphoria, basically they feel the music, etc. and the same goes to the listeners. I've seen couple of these comments and honestly, I find them annoying (you're just the unfortunate one, to whom I write, I know it's not your fault) - everyone appreciates music in their own way - some people enjoy listening to the whole piece, so they don't miss a thing (as Aerosmith would say) and some feel need to scream out when something great is being played, to support a musician (when it comes to live gig) and maybe to encourage the musician to show something even better, because some musicians feed from that and actually like it when they manage to get a scream with their playing...

its a sign of respect and adoration. performing to a dead audience sucks. audience participation is part of the experience. performers (me included) love hearing responses from the audience unless you're robert fripp.

does anyone know what that arpeggios what he play at the beginning part?or just impro?
@timpenfield55 жыл бұрын
Very difficult to figure out, he used a lotta slurs, ornaments, techniques,hammers ,chromatics that make knowing exactly what hes doing very difficult , even slowed down , its hard, he slips things in, He read+understood music obviously ,and on top of that,had his own hybrid style. HE REALLY WAS THE LORD OF THE BOARD. R.I.P

He is very good, he has a fantastic groove and is precise...I dont think that the music he is playing is that complicated....Keith Emerson (in my opinion) is much more difficult too play... But its a matter of taste, they were really good along with wakeman-Van Der linden and others..

On top of the Hammond i'ts a synth a moog, besides the synth it's a mixer i guess and whats on top of that mixer? Just curious. I was at the Perfect Strangers and the House of the Blue Light concerts in Stockholm, Sweden. The latter I also photographed. Great albums and I loved the concerts.
