Thanks! Sometimes it's hard to walk that fine line. I want to effectively communicate the fundamentals of the book...but I definitely don't want to ruin the story for others.

I've found taking notes helps remember the story a bit more. But make reading a longer process. With the notes, it'll bec easier to come up to speed when a few years later #2 comes out. I did this with all of GYS and it helped iron out the whole multidimension thing. The one think I can't figure out is the name of the green girl in Omega Storm. She has multiple interactions do she's key character, but by the le of me, I can't find her name! Lol

RIP Jon Malin. He tried to be Godlike. Ethan Van Sciver gave us Green Lantern Rebirth. 20 years ago. Game over.

@@abras2cents I appreciate the diplomacy of your response but it doesn't address the point. Malin needs to take the criticism and do the market research if he's attempting Kirby's New Gods with a Geoff Johns GL sweep. Particularly if you're hubristic enough to call it 'Godlike'. The character designs are bland especially when you invite comparison with Kirby. There's no energy in the panels with static pin ups in Silvestri poses. The lack of backgrounds of any description is also a problem especially if you're trying to world build. The info dumps upfront are longwinded & boring. Overuse of dialogue is also a huge mistake that all first time comic writers seem to make. Something a professional should be aware to avoid. The original point still stands though. 'Green Lantern Rebirth' is a perfect example and should've served as a template for the kind of introduction to the CG audience of what 'Godlike' could and should have been.

@@lemming2097 I wasn't aware of Jon attempting to emulate Kirby's New Gods. I read that this was his take on Star Wars meets John Carter. However, perhaps he mentioned a Kirby connection during a livestream? Unfortunately, I am quite new to the world of comic books (and KZbin reviews for that matter). So I'm not experienced enough to be able to speak to similarities to Kirby's or Geoff Johns' work.

They are typically featured on IndieGoGo. However, there is a new crowdfunding site called FundMyComic that some creators have started to use. Jon Malin has only used IGG so far. He doesn't go "In-Demand" with his projects. So if you want to get one of his books you either have to back it there or pick it up through Ebay or something of the like.

If Godlike was good why did Ethan avoid the book at every turn when it was first released in fact he would often bring up Liams book over and over when John even so much as hinted at mentioning Godlike on Ethan's stream. Doesn't the fact that Jon obeyed orders and spent weeks talking about Liams trash instead his own work he supposedly sunk a year of his life into make jon #thebiggestcuckofall ?

Jon's designs are very cool, but man Ben Smith's colors look incredible. They really made it pop off the page. Prettiest CG book imo. Especially the oranges, reds and blues.

@@abras2cents Over this book? This book was a poorly executed attempt by an amateur writer, punching well above his weight, so I'd start with The Cat in the Hat and move up from there.

The book looks good but I don't know if looks good enough to have taken over a year to make supposedly. I also won't support someone that lies and tries to cancel other CG creators for months on end just because he's jealous or simply doesn't like them personally. I also question his adult hood arguing with people that have no following and shouldn't even be on his radar is ridiculous and "child like".

​@@richardcahill1234 Johns book has lots of small panels with simple art in them complemented with a larger image with more detailed art work. I've seen Jon make his digital art over the years and I would say he probably worked on the book 1 hour each day for the first month of the year on his I pad sitting back in a recliner while smoking weed. Then after that he just waited for his friends to finish the book for him the rest of the time.

He never "canceled" anyone. They choose to move on. They are all in their own little corners pretending to be CG to make money. But to say canceled ... lol EVS has said multiple times that everyone is welcome back with open arms if they want.
