Marlene, from my very limited experience with JR synthetic vs HD fiber brunette colors is that the HD fibers are pull less red that its synthetic counterpart. This also shows up on my computer screen. The FS67/30/27 HD color look more ash when compared to the synthetics. My complection has an ashy tone and I can't wear the shiney auburn burnettes so I am always on the lookout of any color/fiber that pulls less red. What do you think?

Hi, thank you for stopping by! HD fibers seem to appear warmer than their non-HD counterparts plus they have no shine. FS6/30/27 is brown with light and dark auburn. There are no ashy or cool colors in this blend. I'm not certain why it's appearing ashy; however, if you are looking to avoid reds, this may not be the color for you since the chunky bold highlights are auburns (reddish brown). xoxo Marlene

Hi Marlene! I'm looking for a warm toffee color that is well blended. I wear 633 raspberry twist. I love the warm tone and that there are no stripes! Can you recommend a jon reneau color for me...warm medium Brown. I must avoid cool tones and wouldn't like anything darker than the jon reneau 6 33. A nice Ginger color would be nice too but I don't see anything from jon renau. I've been eyeing Carrie hand tied. I'm just stumped on the color to choose. Thanks so very much Marlene 💚💚

Hi Patricia, in Jon Renau, colors with a / in between two numbers indicates it's an even blend such as we find in 6/33 and 8/30. These are 50/50 blends with no bold highlights. When you want to avoid bold highlights or stripes, stay away from colors with an FS (Fashion Syrup) such as we find in Toffee Truffle (FS6/30/27). An F in the color code indicates the color is blended with the nape are slightly darker such as 6F27. 6F27 is evenly blended and the nape slightly darker. With the exception of 8RH14 and 10RH16, all Jon Renau brunettes are warm. For a warm brunette close to 6/33, you can go with 6F27 which has the same base of 6 but the blend will be slightly lighter (27 is lighter than 33 although not by much). You can also go with 8/30. The base is just slightly lighter (8. is lighter than 6) and 30 is close to 33 just slightly darker. I hope this helps. xoxo Marlene

Hi Celia, Toffee Truffle is FS6/30/27... Yes, they are close as far as colors go (notice they both have 6 & 30 in the blend). The difference is that the FS on JR color codes indicates there are chunky highlights (Fashion Syrup); therefore Toffee Truffle has a dark brown base (6) and chunky highlights in the 30 & 27 (strawberry blonde & auburn) while 6/30 is a blended color. When there's a / between two numbers, it indicates the color is blended rather than the chunky highlights. I hope this makes sense. xoxo Marlene

What do I look for in the color if I want my brunette rooted?

Hi Tammy, if you are looking at Jon Renau, they identify rooted by an S followed by a number. Here's an example: 14/26 is non-rooted and 14/26S10 is rooted with a medium brown (10). In Estetica, you'll see the color code ending with an RT followed by a number which indicates the root color (RT4 is rooted with a dark brown root:4). In RW, a rooted color will have an SS, in Henry Margu, it'll be GR, and in TressAllure it'll be R followed by a number such as R8. I hope this helps. xoxo Marlene
