Thank you for your support, its greatly appreciated. I used to wear wigs for variety, now that I am older I have to wear wigs because of my health. So, I have been learning the difference between wigs by outre, bobbi boss, and other wigs made by belle tress or estetica or noriko. There is a huge difference in the cap, the fibers, and the construction of the wefts. Its interesting because of your needs.....your personal needs. Well, I am still learning. Thanks for the tips. Shopping online for a wig is like trying to win that prize at the fair.....its okay, but really trying on a wig is a huge difference. Hope I get lucky in the hunt/journey. Thx

I can't thank YT wig channels enough! The reviews and advice is priceless. I just received my very first wig this past Monday and would have cried without the knowledge learned from all of you lovely ladies! It's the Dalgona 16 in brown sugar sweet cream. The zigzag part would have thrown me and all the hair was falling forward. But knowing that I can "make it my own" kept me calm and collected. I spent a little time working with the fibers and eventually it became wearable. The only thing I did unusually is that my hair is dark brunette and I went blonde but it didn't bother me. Also, I jumped in feet first in wearing it out of the house. After watching soooo many videos about wearing wigs, I felt confident in my choice. I have another on back order too and can't wait to get it! It's so much fun and I just can't wait to try different styles and colors! Thank you from the bottom of my heart!

Thank you so much for the lovely comment! I'm so happy to hear that you received Dalgona 16 and knew that you could make it your own and felt confident. I think that is a huge part of it. Putting these girls on, feeling confident, and reminding ourselves how beautiful we look. We never ever have bad hair days. Dalgona is one of my favorites, and one I wear often! Thank you so much for your support!!! xoxo Marlene

Marlene, this wig is absolutely gorgeous on you! The color is great on your skin, it brightens up your whole face. Beautiful! On another note, I think its funny that the stock photos are usually styled by a professional yet they look horrible. Meanwhile, regular (nonprofessional stylists) reviewers put them on and style them and they look great! Lol Great video, thanks for all you do for the wig community!!

Thanks, Marlene! I just remeasured & wrote down my measurements. Apparently I'm quite odd, LOL! Circumference is 22.5 (avg/lg), ear to ear & front to back just 12.5 (petite) ha! REALLY tempted by the Alpha Blend & very nearly ordered it (40% is 40%, after all!!!) until I got a good look at cream soda blonde on actual people. (British milk tea isn't in the sale.) On the website it *looks* so cool-toned to me; great advice to watch several reviews & search for pics! Nice wig, though, & great advice! Blessings! Jackie in upstate NY

Marlene you made some great suggestions. I’m knew to wigs, have bought 3, returned 2, sold 1. I too had very dark long hair most of my years, until now with gray taking over☹️. So first wig was dark and looked harsh on my aging skintone. 2nd wig lighter but still too dark. Last one a medium brown Jon Renau was lovely but I didn’t know about permatease. Too poofy, even though I had it thinned and trimmed, plus sizing runs small so snug. Lesson, if you’re 55+ your skin probably won’t carry the darkest colors of youth, go softer. My family still says, “It doesn’t look like you” because they always seem me as dark coal black brunette. So I buy for me, it hides the gray😊

I think for colors, it really helps to see, in person, the colors. Every company that sells wigs should offer color rings, samples, or something like that, so people can put the color up to their skin, in outdoor light, that way, they have a more realistic idea of the color. Buying online, makes it so much harder, and if you are in a desperate situation, lots of hair loss, you probably don’t have the patience or will to try to figure out if this or that color, will work. Excellent video 😊🙏
@MarlenesWigChatStudio Жыл бұрын
Hi Lisa, thank you so much! I'm so happy to hear you enjoyed my video. I believe many companies do have color rings. Wigstudio1 used to carry them. Perhaps if you contact their customer service, a consultant will be able to order them for you. If I remember correctly, they were a bit pricey, but worth it especially if you want to make sure you purchase the color that will work for you. Color is perhaps the most difficult aspect when purchasing a wig online. xoxo Marlene

I love you and watch allll of your videos on any wig I may be considering!!!! You are so honest and transparent. I'm new to this so you have been very helpful. I wish I could ask you your personal opinion of a few wigs based on my old hair. I'm on my 3rd wig of the same exact style and brand, but we just nailed the color. It game with hair missing in the front and a big glob of glue where you would part it. The company was on it right away! I was confused because I had one person answer me and tell me I couldn't return in because I parted it, but I didn't. So the 2nd associate was much more understanding after seeing the pictures and sent me a return label to get a new one. I just wanted to ask you opinion as I see other with longer side layers. This is 5.5" I believe but this one I got the bangs were much shorter and I understand they are all different....but this was a big difference. I want to buy with this company because of the knowledge and customer service but right now I need something like yesterday and I just need some solid advice. Its very frustrating because I've been missing family events since February! I'm sorry but Taz is too happy happy for me and that's ok for some people, but not me when I need a honest opinion and she only wears short blonde wavy wigs and says they are all great it drives me crazy! I need a medium brown with medium blonde highlights. I got English Toffee by Belle Tress and I love it. I wish it had more highlights but I cant be picky. I am just very upset because I'm being told i can order the same one again but the bangs can vary. Thats not fair because that's not under your return policy if that's what happens! You give measurements online and if they aren't correct that's not my fault. So to avoid that....I love this wig SO much but if will lead to more issues I will get something with a longer face frame and get it cut in. I dont know if this next one will come with a huge glue bump in the part and a missing patch of hair right in front on the hairline. Again, I'm going to buy from your company but if you know something similar to the 18" straight press press in English Toffee, but I need to know asap and low density as well. Thank you! Kim
@MarlenesWigChatStudio Жыл бұрын
Hi Kim, thank you so much for visiting! I'm so sorry about the issues; however, I am just a reviewer. While I do purchase all my wigs from Wigstudio1, it is not my company nor my return policy. It's my understanding that if the return policy is followed (no product added, the zigzag not moved), a wig can be returned if you don't care for it, don't like the color, or simply because you change your mind (the return policy is industry guidelines and not particular to any retailer). As far as the bangs, every manufacturer allows 10-15% variance in curl pattern and color; however, I don't believe there is variance in the length. Again, you can return it if you don't care for it. Most Belle Tress styles are low density. You can contact support@wigstudio1.com for a personal consultation (no fee for this service) and a consultant can help you choosing a style and color. xoxo Marlene

I finally purchased myfirstwig Alpha blend by Belle tress it looks so beautiful on you. How do you keep it off your face and how do you use heat on it in what products should be used on it it took me a long time to save up for it I don't want to ruin it. Thank you so much for any advice you can give me
@MarlenesWigChatStudio3 жыл бұрын
Hi Trish! Thank you so much for visiting! I have a few Alpha Blends, but this one was the perfect one where it was like this right out of the box. I do very little to my wigs. Less is more. To steam, I learned by watching Eileen Franklin (Crazy Wig Lady); she has a part 1 and 2 on how to steam. You can follow her instructions to train the hair off your face. The most important thing to remember is to avoid the lace front with the steam. The really easy route is to clip the hair back, add some hair spray for synthetic hair (I usually get HairUWear or Jon Renau, but you can get whichever one you want). after you add the hair spray, leave it clipped back over night. It won't hurt the wig. The two products that I feel are really necessary are the detangling spray (I use Jon Renau but I think there are others), spray just the nape when you take it off. Starting at the ends work your way up to eliminate the tangles. Make sure to only use a wide tooth comb. After there are no tangles, give it a couple of spritz with Estetica Revitize and Shine. Hang up on the the wig stand and she'll be ready for the following day. HD fibers need heat to stay soft. If you see the ends are feeling a bit dry, wet them well with water and use a curling or flat iron at no more than 320 degrees. Use just as you would with bio hair. If you have any questions, please let me know. xoxo

Hi Marlene. I'm Marlene, too! Thank you so much for this video. I literally know ZERO about wigs but... it's time, if you know what I mean. I have a lot of questions but I won't burden you with them all, LOL. Just want to say you look absolutely awesome and I love that color/style. I would love to have hair that color - but right now mine is my natural dark brown. Do you think I should get it, take it to a colorist and then try to match it? I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do. All I know is, I don't want to be this boring mousy brown any more. Anyway, thanks again. You make me so hopeful! ❤

Hi Marlene! Thank you so much for stopping by! Synthetic fibers cannot be dyed. The dye will not adhere to these fibers. My suggestion is to start with a color closest to your own in order to become accustomed to wearing wigs which can be a bit of a challenge at first. Once you become accustomed to wearing a wig, then slowly work your way to lighter. If you've worn lighter colors in the past, then go for a blend such as the one I'm wearing in the video (Brown Sugar Sweet Cream) which is a nice blend of light, medium, and dark brown with some blonde scattered through. I hope this helps, and please feel free to ask away. xoxo Marlene

Hi Lori, thank you for visiting. We try on a new wig for size, color, and length. Unfortunately, that's all we can do. It's a bit of trial and error at first. Once you wear wigs for a while, you know right off if the wig will work as soon as you put it on. You'll know if it fits correctly, and if the style is one you like before shaking or combing through it. I hope this helps. xoxo Marlene

Hi Susan! Thank you so much for stopping by! I feel that Belle Tress colors are so unique that it's difficult to come close in other brands. In BT, Butterbeer Blonde is very light and cool but it has dimension due to some subtle sand added in. Other that that, I don't know of a color that is close to this one. I'm sorry. xoxo

I feel dumb for asking this, but here goes: I bought a synthetic wig off of Amazon. It looks really good, not too shiny like the remi hair extensions I have. Can you tell me what that little lace piece is in the front? It doesn’t go all the way across, it’s just right there at the front. Also, what is the best way to put a wig cap on? Thanks 😊
@MarlenesWigChatStudioАй бұрын
Hi, thank you for stopping by. Try not to feel dumb, there are lots of questions when we start wearing wigs. Believe me, I had the same ones as you. I'm not certain what little piece you're referring to, but could it be a piece of lace? If it is, it's added to allow the wearer to wear the hair off the face and provide a natural appearance. Without the lace, the wig has to be worn with bangs or a side swept otherwise it doesn't appear natural. Usually, wigs that have a lower price point will have a mini lace or none at all. The higher priced wigs will have a temple to temple lace or an extended lace that will go from ear tab to ear tab. Here's a short video that shows how to put on a wig: kzbin.info/www/bejne/r6fRmJ-knaqGkMUsi=KA3o2YjZTnfW3_fA hope this helps. xoxo Marlene

The part where you say to wear a new wig for a few day, make it your own. Change the part etc…then you can’t return it. I’ve just returned 2 wigs that may have had potential but I can’t afford to spend $3-400 on a maybe. Suggestions?
@MarlenesWigChatStudio4 күн бұрын
Hi Sandy, thank you so much for stopping by. When we receive a wig, we try it on for size, length, & color. If those 3 boxes check off, then we can change the part, style, and cut the tag. If any of those 3 don't work, we return. Look for a retailer that doesn't charge restocking fees. I know Frannie's Hair has a great 30 day return policy and no restocking fee. Before purchasing, read the retailer's policy. Some online retailers don't accept returns, some 2 weeks, and others will charge a restocking fee. If you're near Dallas, Tx, you can go to Mimi's in Dallas and try on the wigs. The ladies there are very helpful. xoxo Marlene

I spent years trying to secure my wigs with bobby pins. UGGH. For the last couple years I just put my bio hair in a ponytail. then put my wig grip on. and it holds my wig securely all day. 3- I wish I knew that certain wig companies make wig colors to complement dark skin tones, while others tone colors for pale skin wearers skin tones. I wish I knew about sales.

@MarlenesWigChatStudio Жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you so much for visiting! I have many Raquel Welch wigs and love them. The lace fronts are impeccable and look very natural. I do not have human hair wigs; I live in FL and human hair wigs respond to the environment just as our bio hair. The only one I've had would frizz and required additional styling. My preference is synthetics which I can throw on and go. I'm so sorry about your hair loss. It's very common for new wig wearers to feel as if they're wearing a helmet due to the amount of hair or permatease. You may want to consider an Ellen Wille or Belle Tress; both these brands tend to have a lighter density and the permatease is minimal. xoxo Marlene

How long do your synthetic wigs last before you have to replace it?
@MarlenesWigChatStudio2 жыл бұрын
Hi DLe, that all depends on the care given to the wig, how many wigs the wearer has in rotation, the fibers, the length, and how long the wig is worn throughout the day. A regular synthetic pixie will last longer than a long (below shoulder length) heat friendly fibers wig. A heat friendly fibers where the wearer doesn't apply heat every few days won't last as long as one that is detangled after each wear and heat applied every 4 or 5 wears. A wig that is worn every day for 10 hours/day won't last as long as a wig worn 3x week 10 hours each time. My wigs last a year or two but I have many wigs and wear a different one everyday. A wearer that has 3 wigs in rotation and provides the proper care will probably have the wigs 6 - 8 months without the need to replace any of them. One wig worn everyday for 10 hours and proper care may last 4 - 6 months. xoxo

Hi Liz!!! So happy to see you!! Thank you for stopping by!!! You are so right about making a ponytail. I’ve tried and tried and simply fail!

@@MarlenesWigChatStudio I have only had success, really, with three wigs. One is an old Raquel Welch wig called Encore, that I still have just so I can wear a ponytail. Minimal success with Renau's Angelique (but I have it in a color that really isn't great on me), and lately, RW's Spotlight and Nice Move. I like to wear a ponytail and did for years before my hair started to thin and turn grey. Now it is a hassle with my biohair and doesn't look great, so I want wigs to do it. Toppers can but I haven't had great success with them. Still searching (100+ wigs later!). I am glad you are here, Marlene. 😘

This wig look so natural at you and gorgeous.But how it feels to wear a wig in hot summer?
@MarlenesWigChatStudio Жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you so much for visiting! I live in Florida where it's hot and humid most of the year. I always wear a wig and don't feel hot; however, I am used to this weather and rarely feel hot. I do carry a clip with me and pull the hair off my neck when I go out. xoxo Marlene

My first wigs are from Raquel Welch. Weeks old. Little wear. One is wavy. It seems to kinda separate a lot into separate sections/locks as it hangs. I find myself having to comb it super frequently to break up the sections. How can I fix this? It looks unnatural.
@MarlenesWigChatStudio Жыл бұрын
Hi Charlotte, here's what I do to prevent the fibers from getting clumpy: at the end of the day, I use a spritz or 2 of Jon Renau Smooth Detangler at the nape and run the wide tooth comb through beginning on the ends and working my way up (do not spray the entire wig. Just a little bit at the nape inside). I follow by running the comb through the entire wig without adding any more product. Once there are no tangles, I spray the wig with Estetica Revitalize and Shine then hang to dry on a ventilated wig stand. I use steam on my wavy styles every 4 or 5 wears. After applying the steam, I wrap the wig in a hairnet, secure on top and place on the wig stand. Adding the hairnet prevents the moisture from weighing down the waves. I do this with all my wigs and they don't clump. I hope this helps. xoxo Marlene

Having worn the same style bob for 20 odd years due to alopecia I was eager to ditch it and go back to my pre-hairloss pixie. In retrospect it may have been easier on those around me if I'd stuck with the familiar bob for my first wig - they seemed to have more trouble than me getting used to the change! I did choose a colour as close as possible to my own but was soon ready to experiment and have fun so then moved into my kid in a toyshop phase .... but that's another story.

I called a wig store and asked about measuring for a topper. She, smirked and said you don't measure. I told her I have no knowledge or experience with toppers. I think she misinformed me? She was rude in my opinion and didn't explain why. I'm trying to do research and don't need negative feedback!
@MarlenesWigChatStudio2 жыл бұрын
Hi Cathy, I'm so sorry you've had that experience. No, you certainly don't need any negativity. Yes, you do need to measure for a topper. I'm not certain if I can link videos on here, so I'll add them in a separate comment below. If you don't see my links, that's because KZbin blocked them. The videos are from the Jon Renau Educational videos. You can find them by searching on KZbin: Jon Renau How to Measure for a topper. Once you know your measurement, you can contact support@wigstudio1.com and request a complimentary hair consultation via virtual or phone call. There's no obligation. This is a service that Wigstudio1 provides. The consultants are trained in both wigs, toppers, and colors and will be happy to help you. Please let me know if you have any questions and see in the comment below this one. Hopefully, the links will be put through for you. I'll add two videos. xoxo
