I really appreciate getting to watch you perform, as I live in Africa, and will never be able to watch you live. Much respect. You are my favourite drummer for years already.

Sorry the sound isn’t better- festival rush- it was just a mic out front.

Jarrett Pritchard-What kind of mic was it?
@thespacingguild7 жыл бұрын
SHRiKe TheBand it was a little Tascam Dr-40 under the tent- basically off axis from the whole rig- basically sitting on the console.

Did you have any other way of capturing certain audio? Not bashing what you got. It’s better than nothing. I’m just wondering what all options that could have been available. Does that even make sense?

Well yes- but time was the issue- just no time to set it up. The FOH console was a Profile- so in theory given time I would have just run it into pro tools on my lap top. A lot of desks can record plug and play and act as a multi track interface these days. In a festival situation I was of course able to mount the cameras- but not do anything out front- time was the enemy- but I figured it was better than nothing- and I’m just learning using GoPros so we went for it . My favorite thing to do is probably like I did on the Bonus live Version of “Cold Earth” by Goatwhore. It was a 2 track board feed- and a pair of room mics in Phoenix. Came out very nice. I own a studio in Orlando and do all the Gruesome albums and did the latest Goatwhore- so I mean I have all kinds of ways to capture. Every variation of Madi or USB or Dante or Dante conversion capturing devices. It’s always just about time- the annoying thing is that I multi tracked the whole show the day before at the Rock in Tucson but it was so dark you couldn’t see anything at all on stage- if it’s not one thing...

Jarrett Pritchard- I appreciate the response. I’m a novice student taking baby-steps to learn more about audio. This is an old account but we’re still in a two-piece experimental scrap metal band. About to go into the studio here in Texas to record a couple more tracks for our demo/EP, Six Six Six is the new band name.
