Osteotectonics is such a great word for how the skrulls shift their bone structure. That’s so so cool that you made a huge mark on the legacy of Marvel and gave some fun practical design to how the Skrulls do their thing. I’m officially going to refer to Groots squirrel as “Jonah the Squirrel” now. The Iron Man nanites are so cool, that whole story is the one that got me INTO the comics after seeing the movies and growing up lightly exposed to marvel stuff. But Extremis was awesome, it’s so cool that you got to dive into how that works for Tony. You had so much fun incorporating fun facts into these designs, Marvel sounds like they were so fun with letting you be creative with incorporating these designs and giving them abilities. And wonderful job on the goofier ones like Leader and Modok! This is awesome. And holy cow, those masks are NEXT LEVEL. The fantastic four one is BEAUTIFUL. What an awesome find, he is so talented!!

Thank you for all the kind words! Indeed, they were pretty fun to work with, I was surprised at how chill marvel was. And yeah, Salim is fantastic, he was easy to work with, and had just the right set of abilities for the job.

Wonderful talk Jonah! I really enjoyed all your insights into these fabulous illustrations. I’m replaying Skyrim (again) and I was casting calm spells in giant camps the other day to get a closer look at the giants and their homes. I can really see that same care and attention to detail in all your work! Really inspiring!

Question...when you designed Iron Man for this book did you refer to 'The Iron Manual' at all? I think it was a 80's or 90's short comic that showed the anatomy of his suit? I remember finding it in a comic store and thinking it was so cool. But now you've made this and it's just amazing and more detailed than ever. Great work, man! Love it.

Hi Adam! I think I glanced at it, but Iron Man’s look has changed so much in recent years - and his tech needed to look high-end, that I had to go with a more modern aesthetic. Thankfully, the movies also give some sense of construction, and I trust them to go for realism, since they have to really sell the suit, you know? I did reference the old 80s tech for Spidey’s web shooters tho!

@@JonahLobeDraws That makes sense. You did a brilliant job on the book, and as a long-time comic nerd, I really appreciate that. I loved the Spidey breakdown btw! It was so smart.
